So here's my story,

My dad discovered he had heart disease and kidney failure last year,resulting to us losing quite an amount of cash over the year and losing "manpower" in the house(he can't lift anything heavy now and cant be allowed to help much in our barbeque business). Since then,mom does almost everything around the house and our business with a little help from me every once and a while. but my help doesn't seem enough, financially.

so heres the thing,Ive been doing a lot of stupid things lately,and I know i'm guilty of doing those, so mom loves to shove all those things to my face; starting from me "failing" college(w/c im not,really), house problems, and even my collecting hobby.
I have upcoming summer classes this month, and they want me to find a summer job,Ive been a dependant my whole life but I don't think Im ready,even though I had an on the job training a few months ago. Trying to find a job isnt difficult for me but the thing is,I gave my certificate from my last job to my university because it was a requirement,but we weren't informed that we were supposed to pass a photocopy.(and if you are wondering, yes, this is one of the stupid things I've done) Now I don't think I can retrieve it, the university doors won't open until classes start and rumor has it that the papers we sent were going straight to a junk shop.

Im feeling so pressured right now,Im an only child and Im shy as fuck,I don't think I have enough courage to ask the dean about the certificate so it can help me find a job so that i can study and to tell you the truth I really don't know what to do.

I just wanted to bring that out of my chest, i'll accept you guys calling me stupid because I know I am but, advice can really help me right now....

i think i can relate to you although i'm not an only child but i'm in university too (barely, unfortunately unlike you i'm not doing well). and i think around our age our parents start to expect us to contribute more actively in family affairs-- financially i mean.. or maybe i'm just paranoid because my 2 siblings are already working and i'm not.. i imagine my parents look at me and think you should hurry up and work too.. *sigh* to add to that i am having difficulties w/ my acads.. in that light, i feel that i am being a burden and thus i feel pressured too and in a negative way...

and about your certificate, anyone could make that mistake it's not that stupid.. god knows i too made stupid mistakes that i am very guilty about.. and i don't think universities close during summer break, you should try calling the offices or going to campus to find out for sure. i know you're shy but the more you don't know for sure the more you'll feel worse..

or you could try this:
i don't know if in your country job certificate from prev employer is a requirement for job application, but someone who helped me make my resume (the one i used for ojt) told me to include a reference section in mine. i'm thinking a reference could substitute for a job certificate? i'm not 100% sure but it's something...

when you're applying if they ask for it maybe you could just inform them of your situation with a promise to give it as soon as you're able to or suggest politely to your future employer that they could call your prev employer and confirm that you have worked there... that's what i think might work.
