Sooo, I have this friend. We've been friends for many years now, but there's just one problem about them...

They really smell. And by that I mean bad.

Like super bad. Like even I can't stand it.

I sit next to them in the school bus every morning, and I even sometimes get a bit grossed out. Don't get me wrong she's a great person! She's funny and nice... but she just smells so bad.

I'd feel rude if I just went up to her face to face and told her she smells bad. But at the same time I wanna because her bad body odor doesn't just bother me. And especially if she's on her period.... yeah we get it.

so how should I tell her she smells... but at the same time not hurt her feelings?

Just break it to her, like:
[During school]"I have something to important after school to tell you, so can follow me afterwards."
[After school]"I've been thinking this a long time, and I really need to tell you what I think, but I'm scared...just wait a few seconds so I can prepare myself"
[Wait a few seconds]"Okay, I'm ready. You stink. Like, real bad. Please clean yourself."

Ok, but being serious. I also had a friend like this in middle school. I don't think there's really an easy way to tell a person that. A lot of us told her but she never gave a shit and she didn't do anything about it. When we started making fun of her for it, she still didn't do shit, but hopefully this girl isn't the same way. So what I suggest you do is just be very straightforward about it. Don't filter yourself lol. Good luck!

Oh yep, there's always someone in your class who'll smell like that in late primary. Especially when they hit puberty.

Tbh deal with it until she gets tits or something. Then she'll learn what deodorant is and maybe shaving.
