Moody roommate advice? (6)

So, I moved in with some friends about two months ago, for a job I'll probably never have the chance for again. So far, it's been mostly okay. But, recently, one of my roommates has been super moody. He's also been really passive aggressive, and his wife says to just ignore it. I can't do that, but I also can't tell him it upsets me. The thought of confronting him is enough to cause a small panic attack. I would stay in my room, but I am sleeping on the couch for another two months or so, and "his area" is the living room. I also don't want to ask his wife (who I've been friends with for several years) to talk to him. Not only that, but she's also told me she would rather me talk to him than ask her if I'm being ridiculous. Help?

I know its hard to ignore, but in this situation, its probably the best thing to do. listen to his wife. It will keep you from getting hurt.

>>1 Whelp, start looking for a new place if it's that bad. How long will be you staying there -- can you deal with this for another 6 months? 12 months? It's gonna get to you at some point. I wouldn't stand for it, I'd look for a better place, just my opinion.

Or you and the wife can talk to him together, but I don't think it has to be direct, just maybe like a few hints at dinner or so about his behavior, ask him if he's okay right now or something
