Just got caught shoplifting (15)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2016-02-20 17:20 ID:Lg6kHe+n [Del]

I am gonna be honest. i get a rush off of shoplifting. i am 18 years old and have been shoplifting since i was 15. it is so much fun knowing that i fooled some adults. but today was different. i was caught. now i am going to be fined and all for a little piece of makeup. i still live with my family and i cannot have them find out. i am an adult, i can pay the fine, and i promise i will never do something like this again.

Well, it's good that you posted here. Confiding even anonymously helps. I can understand why you wouldn't want to tell your family. But if you feel like they're going to find out and there's no avoiding it, MAKE SURE you tell them first yourself.

Trust me, it will help a LOT. Also, remember that the promise you made is only to yourself. No-one else will know whether you keep it or not, but you. So try and stick to it.

Personally, sometimes I get a rush thinking about ways to break into places and steal stuff. Looking for cameras etc. But I would never do that - not for the risk of getting caught, but it's against my own morals. Doesn't stop me from purely fantasizing about it :)

*UPDATE*
I MIGHT BE FINED 2500 DOLLARS
I AM CRYING AND SCARED
IT WAS ONLY $4.50
$250 DOLLARS? I CAN UNDERSTAND BUT 2500?!
I AM GOING TO JAIL BECAUSE MY FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY

And.....you've learnt your lesson. The fine worked

Just remember not to shoplift next time. But to be honest, it's a good thing youre admitting it and trying to find a way to fix it. I like that

You won't go to jail for shoplifting, just a detention center or something.

But this makes me think about your original comment. It's not so fun now that "those adults" didn't get fooled by you this time?

The maximum fine is most likely $2500. Your family shouldn't suffer because of your deeds, so hope that they don't fine you the max amount...

Sounds like you're a pre-adolescent kid discovering more about the world. This is reality. If you don't have the mindset of a master criminal, please obey the law, especially if you don't want to disappoint mama and papa.

>>7 They're 18. Just a note. Unsure if you we're being figurative or literal by saying they seem adolescent.

Is swapping price tags just you could have a lower price considered as shoplifting???

You know that is considered illegal too right? That is commiting fraud you don't go to jail but it does go on your record. Actually you could get arrested or trialed for more than 600 dollars if you resist.

Not sure where you live but in America if you're a first offender you won't go to jail. Government always has payment programs and community service and stuff like that. Sorry you had to learn the hard way.

I've been there Good News you're young . this is a two fold blessing A you will be prosecuted as a minor , which also means its going on you're Juvy record not your adult record.. I recommend finding a lawyer or attorney. Find a Shoplifting prevention course online . it will help your case when the judge asks you how you plan to amend your ways. BE REPENTIVE. write a letter to the store and apologize for disrupting business and burdening them with your Stupidity. Fall on your sword (not literally) but lay yourself bare for what you have done. And then ask your attorney about Expungement .. that way the record is sealed and only able to be opened if you do something like this again and they get a warrant to investigate prior activity (which cops usually won't, net even DA's have a habit of this practice). I'll be honest this will set you back basicly 2G to get everything done and will take either a year or two years for the expungement .. Oh and in between Filing for expungement and getting expunged record ...DON'T DO SHIT. Like if they have any reason to say no they will , so keep yourself out of legal trouble in that time. The rest is Forgive yourself .. And I'm not gonna lie that's one of the hardest thing to do .. my shoplifting happened over 5 years ago and I still berate myself about it from time to time. Hope this helps.

*HUGS* you got this.
