Chicken & egg problem.

Many muslims try to force (coerce, really) western cultures to adapt to their culture when it should be the other way around.
These ones should be in the minority (under dispute) but they're the ones that make the news. When peeps start critisizing them, all the other muslims who are mostly unrelated start retorting and the insult war began.

Basically put (since I'm a cat, I insult everyone), muslim in majority (yes, majority) have compromise and tolerance problems and a lot of western people are too dumb to know what they're actually arguing about.

Btw, if you include the social media theory, it can be said that people are pissed off that even though islamophobia is actually not that big, they make a reaaaaaaaallly big deal about it until it actually becomes real, and again, Americans and Europeans are too dumb to point out what they don't like.

And other things. Should I go on?

They weren't attacked. They haven't been specifically attack since the Crusades in the 1400s. Also, when people talk about Muslim violence they aren't actually referring to all Muslims. There are two branches of the Islamic religion: Shiite and Sunni. Sunni are the more violent group and have led many jihadist (those who attempt the extermination of all people who don't share their religious beliefs) wars. Shiite, on the other hand, while still holding a certain level of disdain for non-Muslims, more actively pursue coexistence and conversion as opposed to genocide. The reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan are led by Shiites, while the 9/11 attacks, UN bombings, and PLO missile rain on Israel were all Sunni-led. ISIS is also predominantly Sunni.

Apparently these days one insult is all it takes to declare that their entire religion is under siege.
On the viewpoint of security, Sunni is more problematic, but in media, business and politics and a lot of other things, Shiite is trying to gain more power and so they declare that western culture is under attack. (The irony. Who's attacking who, again?)
And it doesn't help that when a specific group of muslim is under fire, the ENTIRE community jumps in to their defense whilst being complete outsiders.
And again, westerners are too dumb to actually make valid arguments regarding that matter.

..that felt good. Nothing like venting all the stress away on a random topic. Good night. Yawn.

>>4 That much is definitely true. I'm not saying all shiite are peaceful, just that they don't usually resort to such bloody means.

From where I am, we've got thousands upon thousands of Sunni muslims and I would say they don't look like a blood thirsty bunch...I could probably name you about 99 peace talkers but I don't wanna try remembering (don't tell me to plz) oh and....

9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB. Trumps right.

*sighs* but my niece goes bicycle riding with a group of other "non-muslims" and every time so she either gets spat on by passing drivers or has some driver trying to trip her. I'm not sure why she's not allowed to raise a red flag in this argument.

Ah and attacks don't have to be physical violence. This can be started with oppression, take Turkey or Spain for example. After the muslims took over these countries, Christians and believers of other religions actually had MORE freedom to practice, their previous leaders were tyrants even with their own kind. Now we come to today and muslim women are not allowed to wear their head scarves when seeking tertiary education, men can't wear beards and Mosques are being taken over and turned into churches.

But basically, I wouldn't want anyone to be ridiculed for practicing their religion or culture. Their religion is their religion and our religion is our religion.

At least both christian and muslim still got a whole slew of ppl on the media backing them.
Minority religions, no, because it's only natural that they're opressed while no one is looking.
And while we're on the topic of freedom, Valentine's day is banned in some muslim countries.

Conclusion: we're all too used to freedom to appreciate it.
