So today my best friend stole my sketchbook, a sacred item, wrote a note about how important I am and how I'm "ignoring" her and whatnot in it and I got really fired up and rage-texted her the moment I got home. We talked, but it was mostly me just insulting her for being a complete biatch and thief.. she told me that she just really wanted to connect with me and tell me stuff but felt as if I didn't take things seriously. Anyways..

I don't really understand. I'm mostly angry since she didn't just tell me in person. I'm also confused about her not being able to connect with me since she has plenty of opportunities to do so.. I have a few class periods with her so I'm afraid it'll be awkward since I didn't really forgive her. Any advice?

Just talk to her and ask her about her point of view. Then, share your point of view. We are not her, so we cannot think exactly like how she does. I know it might be a pain in the ass, but you should be the mature one and take the initiative, if this relationship actually matters to you.
