Has anyone ever run away from home or faked their death, I'm contemplating this but I'm not sure I will. If anyone has, I would like to hear stories or reasons.

Don't consider it. It's not worth it.

unless you do it and get away with it, nobody really knows just how hard it is to actually fake your own death. this is especially true in this day and age where everyone has some kind of tiny little clue of their existence out there somewhere on the internet.

you'd have to get extreme cosmetic surgery to pull it off almost perfectly, and even then you have the surgeon as a variable you'd probably have to kill to keep quiet.

we're in the lives we're in for one reason or another, whether it was some grand scheme or just dumb luck. it's too much of a hassle to try and fight that kind of system.

you'd be better off just trying to turn your current life towards the goals you'd want to achieve by running away from it.
