So I liked this girl a while ago, and we both liked each other and we had similar interest so I asked her out and she said yes. We only dated for about a month til she broke up with me. She asked me to come to the front courtyard during lunch (sophmore in highschool)and we sat and chatted for a lil bit and then she said we should break up. Those words dropped my heart in an instant. She said she was some gender thing where she couldn't love anyone romantically or something. MAN was I depressed. i didn't really care that she wasn't my gf anymore but what really bugged me was that I couldn't hangout with her anymore. We were done, through. And this got me thinking. If really enjoy spending time with someone you like should you ask them out and in the future possible never talk to them again or be friends and never have that a possibility?

Give it time. Like A LOT of time. It'll be easier to reconnect later. If you still care to by then.

Just because you break up doesn't mean you can't be friends again, sure it may feel weird but that's with all changes of relationship not just yours. So go out and try to be friends again.

Yeah that whole "can't be friends after a breakup" is stupid. I've been in a couple relationships and there's nothing wrong with staying friends. I don't mean to ruin your day but if she dumps you and plays the "we can't be friends" card then she isn't worth it.

My bestfriend and I realized we were in love with eachother a few years ago and knew that if we dated it'd ruin our friendship, so we decided to tread the waters and see where it'd take us. It was magical, and dangerous. So we stayed friends and we still love eachother the same, although I wonder what would've happened if I'd have stuck to dating her.
