I don't like to be depressing. I don't like to say things that make me look like a depressed person. I don't want people to see me as a depressing person. Just one question - Why do I feel so empty? Every time I laugh or joke around, I don't feel anything. I'll chuckle but I just do it so I don't look upset or angry. It doesn't bother me, but I feel I won't be able to do this for long until it does bother me or affect me in some way. Why? Why do I feel this way? I really wish I knew.

You feel that way because deep down you want to feel that way. Some part of your being wants to feel empty. And it's not something that's unique to you, I went through that as well, although for me it was because I sub-consciously realized that I'd never be able to fit in with everyone everywhere if I only had one personality. So I became an empty person with many different masks to wear in different situations. I don't know if that's what you're doing or not, but there's an easy solution: connect with people. Don't just talk to people, you need to connect with them on a deep level and form bonds. These bonds will help to fill you up so you don't feel empty.

More ways would be to find something that you really truly enjoy doing, and to do that on a consistent basis and express yourself thoroughly through it.

All in all, you just need to find ways to focus on something other than yourself. I'm not saying you're a selfish person, I just mean that often times focusing on someone else and helping them is the best way to help yourself.

I'm sorry if none of this really helps you, this is just what I've found beneficial in my own life.
