Sexual preference? (23)

1 Name: A : 2016-01-12 14:23 ID:t2GR+kiZ [Del]

How do you know what your sexual preference is? Is it something that you just "know"? What if you're not sure? I've dated girls as well as guys and it just seems normal. I like dating girls. I like dating guys. Am I bisexual? Also, What's the difference between bisexual and pansexual? They seem similar but are different?

If you like dating both you are bisexual. Bisexual = pansexual they're the same thing.

Actually, pansexual is attraction to ALL genders, because there's more than two genders. Bisexual is attraction to TWO genders. I know I'm panromantic because I'm romantically attracted to every gender. It's quite simple, but takes a lot of thinking and searching to actually figure it out. Understand what you like, and then think about labels.

I'm not sure you understand how biology works, Baconator. There are two (2) genders: Male and Female. You're one or the other. There is nothing else. You can only identify as one or the other, there are only two different sets of sexual organs, and how many chromosomes you have also decides whether you're male or female regardless of which sexual organs you have. Mankind only has two different genders, we are not mushrooms.

Pansexuality means being attracted to someone's personality, not someone's gender. Bisexuality is being attracted to both males and females.

>>5, it is true that we can be biologically male or female, however in some cases the line in biology blurs. XXY may mean that the person exhibits male sexual organs but also displays some female traits (slightly developed breasts etc). Some people even have both sexual organs (this is called being intersex), though this is rare.

Also, some people may not feel like their gender. They may be biologically male, but they feel female. This is called transsexuality. Transgendered people feel like people of the opposite sex despite being born with the organs they have.

You choose how you want to identify yourself. In the case of bi/pansexuality, are you attracted to people's personalities or do looks play a part, even a little?

Being someone who is pansexual, I can say there is a difference between being bisexual and pansexual. We can look at the etymology for the words... Bi = two, pan = all. In the case of bisexuality, one is attracted to what is freshly named "cisgendered" people {"cis"} for short. That's where a person identifies as the the biological gender they were born as. In contrast, pansexuals don't have borders. To use Suzuha's term, these "blurred lines," biological or otherwise, don't bother pansexuals. There are people who are transgender, transexual, genderfluid, bigender, and people who despise being called either "male" or "female," almost nothing is off-limits. That's not to say that bisexual people discriminate, it's just what they're attracted to. You can't help who and what you like.

As for the question of "knowing" sexual preference, it takes time to experiment and explore yourself. I think the most important thing is to be honest with yourself. No matter what you like, nothing is "wrong" with you. I, personally, wouldn't adhere to labels much. It helps with descriptions if they're necessary in a situation, but describing exact feelings and practices can be difficult and all over the place, which labels can't contain.

Before this attracts rabid SFWs, I'll just be the neutral voice pointing out that there's a difference between biological sex and gender identity. Sex pertains to biological and physiological characteristics while gender refers to behavior, social roles, and societal expectations.

At least that's what I've heard and observed of humans. I'm an emotionless robot with no soul. What do I know.

Six hours later, after work...
Haha what a typo. "SFW".
I meant SJWs.
Close enough.

No Idea. First thought I was straight, wasn't. Thought I was gay. Kinda gay but not really. then I thought I was demisexual. (only sexually attracted to someone if emotionally attached) might be me. Now i'm just sitting on asexual. I like butts. all kinds of butts. Sexy when they're in their underwear and nothing else but. When that last bit of clothing comes off. All I can do is laugh. and over all disinterested. If a tv is left on in the room i end up watching that and forget what activity im doing.

I'm straight, and let me say this, I don't mind other people having different preferences, but I think it's weird as fuck.

>>6 It is also called MUTATION(abnormality in number of chromosomes)
>>5 It's like what you said, SEX = XY(Male)/XX(Female) and in GENDER(Roles/Expectations) = Masculinity/Femininity
>>15 I know what you are trying to say. I am also straight and for me I feel the same thing. Well, it is true you are one of the "FAMOUS" users here in Personal Page but please explain it more so that the others will understand. I want to see your thoughts in this one. You may be annoying in others, but it doesn't mean you don't have anything valuable to say.

>>18 Huh? I didn't say I don't want to, it is truly necessary for people to have kids. What do you mean?

Pie is referring to how every living thing is hardwired to breed and propagate their genes to ensure the survival of those genes. Going against that programming would be considered "unnatural" and "abnormal" in a completely scientific point of view. Those that don't breed have to deal with their genetic legacy going extinct.

Of course, this is just technical and not taking people's feelings into account. Humans can do whatever they want. They can break free from their programming even if it seems irrational. We're the only animal with enough cognitive function to have "free will".

Pansexual means you love Everything. Meaning, Gays, Bi, Lesbians, Transgenders, Straights, Transsexuals, Transvestites.

Bi means you only like Girls and Guys, whether they are straight, gay/lesbian or bi. Not including, Transsexuals or Transvestites.

Anyway, it doesn't matter your sexuality. Be comfortable in your skin and be proud of who you are.

Thank you for all of your replies, I understand it now. I'd probably still be confused if I hadn't posted this. I am truly grateful.
