I wish to start a drawing channel on Youtube for a project and perhaps to continue. My setup right now is a crap ton of art supplies and... a shoebox with my phone duct taped to it. My family refuses to get me a camera because, let's face it, if I get it I probably won't be able to keep the channel running long enough for it to be worth it (or they think so, with all of my other hobbies and activities). So my question is, without a fancy camera or tripod will I still be able to make semi-okay quality videos that people will want to watch? I'm asking for an opinion based off of expierience viewing (landscape not portrait) videos from mobile phones on youtube. My phone is new with a good camera, not proffessional quality though. I still want to make videos that are quality looking and have quality content, just are there any tips to make my channel overall better w/o access to expensive stuff?

I think it's great that you want to start sharing your drawings :)) I personally don't think you need a great camera to film as long as you have decent lighting and can edit it well (something simple like iMovie, etc.). When i did some drawing videos waaay back, I used an iPhone camera and it worked fine. Good luck on your endeavors!

^^^ i agree!! plus, if you don't continue with it, it would be a shame to spend like $100-200 on a camera you might not use much in the future
that said-! make SURE you have good lighting!! otherwise it'll come out "fuzzy" (think of an "edgy" instagram video in the dark) fuzziness is really unprofessional and its hard to see past it (in my opinion at least) also don't play around with too many effects- it may alter your drawing completely ;v; iMovie is rlly great for beginners so i recommend it!!! good luck friend!!
if you need any help just send me an email (caodollars@gmail.com) im not good at much but im great at filming and editing ^v^
