Sorry, I'm new to the whole BBS thing how does a tripcode work exactly?

For example, if my password was "sandwich", I would enter "Shiranui#sandwich" into the name box. Then my name will have a code of letters and numbers beside it. With my current password, my name should show up as "Shiranui !b2B0SQa8Xw". Everytime you see that code, you know it's me. No other "Shiranui" should have that code.

I don't know how much this helps, but I hope I pushed you in the right direction.
