Guilt (2)

So, I used to play this card game called yugioh and hang out with boys from the after school care I go to whom also play it. But ever since the new season came out I stopped because I had exams and decided it was a waste of money. But then a few months ago one of the younger boys invited me to his birthday party, which I couldn't refuse. I wanted to buy a deck for him, but the night before the birthday party I couldn't hold back my desire and took the deck for myself, only giving him a few cards. I feel guilty that I ruined his birthday just because I couldn't control myself. Taking a deck of cards sounds minor but I'm still overwhelmed by the guilt today.

I played that game too and I understand your want for the deck. Some cards are very valuable, helpful, or any other sorts of things, so the few cards you gave him could have meant more than the deck. If he didn't know you were going to get him a deck, he probably still loved the gift. When I was playing I was given one cards for my birthday from my friend, and it was only a two dollar card but it was still one of the most meaningful presents for me that year. It's about quality not quantity. If you still feel bad, you could try giving the deck to him anonymously so he still gets it?
