Have any of you been diagnosed with ASPD?
Do any of you personally know someone who has been diagnosed with ASPD?

I'm just looking to learn more about the condition so if you have any information or opinions please tell me.

Thanks for reading.

Most people don't realize that antisocial is a disorder and not something you can call yourself if you don't like people or socializing.
People with this disorder have ways of thinking that are dysfunctional and sometimes even destructive. They can't see right and wrong like most can and they don't feel guilt and remorse. Basically, they are similar to those "heartless villain" characters. However, they don't choose to be that way.

Some symptoms:
• Persistent lying or deceit to exploit others
• Manipulating others for personal gain or for sheer personal pleasure
• Intense egocentrism, sense of superiority and exhibitionism
• Hostility, significant irritability, agitation, impulsiveness, aggression or violence
• Lack of empathy for others and lack of remorse about harming others
• Unnecessary risk-taking or dangerous behaviors
• Poor or abusive relationships
• Irresponsible work behavior
• Failure to learn from the negative consequences of behavior

Hope this helped!

>>2 psychopaths and sociopaths

>>3 social anxiety is "asocial" as in averse to social interaction.
the "social" in "antisocial" is closer in meaning to "society", so antisocial would mean averse to society or differing from societal norms.

>>4 that does help, thank you!

I think I remember hearing something about amygdala malfunctioning being a cause of ASPD. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
