I just did miserable on one of my tests today and though I should have passed, I think only barely. I always try to study hard and I had thought that I got the idea and concepts. But when I did this test, it was on a whole new level of understanding and stuff. And it was long in my opinion, since I was pressured by the time limit and don't get a chance to check anything so I know which questions i screwed up. This was suppose to be the easiest test out of the entire year and yet I just go murdered by it. I don't know what to do! I can't let this subject drag my average down, and I can't drop it since it is a necessary course in order to apply for college/uni.
So to sum it up, I've read through the textbook and done my hw. Yet why does it seem like I don't understand at this required level?
Please help, I don't want this course to ruin my already declining grades!

Well, when you go into tests always think clearly. It really depends on the subject. Things like english, language arts, and MOST science you can guess on by using logic and elimination. If it's math, you're sort of screwed, because there's almost always only one answer. I say go after school and ask for some help. If you don't understand ask for help from others taking the class who seem to understand and look online for some help. =) Good luck!

How do you study generally?

I make notes on what the teacher has taught, then extra notes from the txt book. I also do questions from the txt book and even tho those r pretty straight forward, the test questions were more thinking/understanding required.
So even tho I understand the straight forward stuff, I don't seem to be able to use that knowledge to actually think and b logical :/

Don't worry if you've failed just one test, your life isn't done for.

Just do what the teacher say (don't do too much extra work from the textbook) and relax, and sleep properly at night.

I heard that the teachers in this department are very smart and helps u prepare for uni rlly well...that is if I can get in now -.-'
But during the test I'm worried about the time limit bcus, for example, there are multiple choice where I can't spend even a minute on or else I won't b able to do the other questions. But I need more time than that to think for several questions .. So yeah...I don't know how to relax when I'm in a situation like that too

Remember that high school barely matters in the future and that your grades don't define you.
But this being said -
Try and talk to any of your teachers about being able to redo an assessment piece to try and improve your grade.
If your teachers aren't okay with this, then just try your best next term to raise your scores.
(This is pretty cliche but) your best is all you can do, and it's important that you keep that in mind.
And if there are any specific reasons for worse grades than you were hoping for, then try to explain the reasons to your parents.
