Strange ''nightmare'' (6)

Ok, so I just woke up... it's still morning but I fell asleep
Earlier, I was reading manga and doing random things in my tablet , after awhile, I was sleepy after I saw a... someone was deas and is being carried to the funeral..s if I'm really tired even though I haven't done anything that would tire me out so I decided to take a nap and set an alarm to wake me up after an hour.

When I was sleeping, I suddenly got a weird feeling, like something heavy or someone was pinning me down on my bed and I feel myself was struggling even though I don't know I can't see what my body is doing in reality. I tried to roll side to side but in glimpse, I can feel my body just staying in one place and realize that me escaping from the ''heavy thing that pins me" is just a part of the dream. The moment just repeats again and again.

I can even see my own room, the designs of my blanket and even my tablet and what manga I was reading, but the scenes might just be an illusion(or from the previous chapters I read) so I think it's not actually a nightmare, I suddenly woke up just a second before my alarm rings. 2 nights before, the same incident happen and when I woke up, I was gushing in blood (I mean the monthly period) and it's really scary. Well, it happened to me for the first time about 2 years before, I could say that I am used to it, although it had stopped happening for about 2 months, It suddenly happens again, and almost after another.

If someone knows about the details for this strange dream, please tell me why does it happen. Thanks

you might have experienced sleep paralysis, it is kind of like a more physical version of a night terror.
A night terror is the feeling os great fear when awaking from a deep sleep, mostly at night, but it can happen in the day sometimes. And sleep paralysis is the temporary inability to speak or move when falling asleep or when waking up. It often means that your body isnt moving fluently through the stages of sleep. It can be, but is rarely, linked to psychiatric problems. A lot of people who have experienced sleep paralysis have linked it to an "evil" presence. This is most likely because of what they claim to see while it is happening. Things like unseen night demons and aliens have been linked to it.
To sum it all up, sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking.
Now, I do not mean to alarm you about this. It is likely to be nothing as these cases are pretty rare. What you wrote just reminded me of it, so, I thought i'd share a little bit of what I know. to be honest, I fear having this happen to me because of what i've heard about hallucinations occurring when this happens to people, so, I try not to fall asleep while on my back. For some reason laying on my sides makes me feel better to sleep.

Well, I talked about it with others and some of them say that it also happened to them. Including one of my neighbor who said that he saw a girl on top of him while it is happening. Because this happened so many times at me, I learned that covering my eyes while sleeping would prevent it from happening but earlier, like what I said, it was strange because even though I am covering my entire face, it still happened and lasted so long. Today when it happened, the scene was like someone was captivating me even though I could not see any person around. It was broad daylight when it happened but in the 'dream', it was night so I thought it's rare.

This also happened to me a couple of times and randomly. Some says because I sleep after eating which is not a valid explanation because I'm nocturnal, there are hours between my dinner and sleep and this always happened to me at night. When I was still in grade school my solution for this is touching a person beside me in bed (my family sleep together). I'm that scared I need reassurance. But now I just stay calm as much as I can. Panicking won't help especially when I feel a part of my body being pressured and I'm chocking. I tried to even my breathe intake even though I'm not sure if I'm really chocking or its all in my mind. So for everyone who's experiencing this what they call sleep paralysis, my advice is to stay calm dont panic, it just worsen the state of your body. And lastly if you believe in someone above us, then pray your own prayer :D

>>4 , the solution I figured after few years of experiencing this is by covering the eyes while sleeping. I also noticed that when I'm hugging a pillow, my hand automatically starts moving by itself and remove the pillow as if someone invisible was doing it. And yes I am calm whenever this happens and I don't even know why, instead, I try to find out what to do (because hving this sleep paralysis happens while having a straight, clear thinking)

I heard of this too and it's really scary.
It never happened to me and I hope it never will.
