France's anti religious laws (9)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-26 14:31 ID:sZyRh+0r [Del]

I read someone about how France bans religious symbols like the head scarf. I wanted to ask any French dollars why that is? Isn't controlling what a person wears a bot extreme? And isn't it against the human right of freedom to practice your religion. Most importantly does this apply to tourists? Me and my friend are planning to go to France and my friend wears the headscarf. Would she not be allowed to go? Can any French dollars explain to me how this horrible law works.

(Non-french person):I don't think there's a ban on hijabs however there most definitely is a ban on niqaabs. If your friend wears a niqab its best not to when you're over there.

France doesn't ban religious symbols u just have to be discreet.

As far as I know, religious symbols are only banned at schools in France.

>>3 why is that though? I understand France being a secular country but forcing secularism on other people is immoral.

>>5 being discreet for your own safety

I may be wrong here, but the discretion may be for safety. Recent events in France paint Muslims in a poor light, and openly worshipping Islam there might be putting yourself in danger. So for your own safety, they recommend not openly worshipping.
