I don't know about you guys but I volunteer to the community service 3 days a week, Donate some clothing every 4 months, do actual missions, and give out home made treats every special occasion like valentines, christmas, or halloween (people already give out treats on halloween, so erase that thought) if I have time I would volunteer to children's hospital or the food bank but that can wait until my seasonal job is done. And yep, this is a Fan site. If you have anymore complains tell that to the trash (trash talking XP)

It's not my place to judge. Yes this is a fan site, but some people have taken this opportunity to act out the ideals of the Dollars from Durarara!! Others have found comfort in the Dollars. This site is many things, and I'm happy to call this place a home for now.

I view this site more as a social one. I prefer it over facebook, and whatnot since there is actual conversations on this site. But I don't see this site having a grand scheme that impacts the world.

I have done community service in the past through boy scouts. I am going to school full time and working full time too; which limits my free time to do community service anymore.

Though I definitely like the personal board, the most, due to peoples life experiences. It gives me more insight into others lives, as well as my own. People receive advice and help is offered as well on this board. So in a way it makes a little difference in lives.

REALITY CHECK:
In order to change anything it takes work and DEDICATION, not a how whole bunch of closed minded people that complain about not seeing anything change. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You really need to rethink everything that you expect out of this life. We we meant to struggle here. We were meant to die and live. This is all just a trail. We are here to help each other as much as we can no matter how glorious it is or isn't. Bump.

I think the people on this site are not connected enough, like working together face to face, to make a change in the world. Also not enough people have the same goals, or agenda, to strive for as well. Those two things would make a huge difference of doing something on a large scale. Funny how companies do just that and make a difference in the world.

I plan to make an impact in the technological field. I want to design computer chips and I am going to school, and work, full time to achieve that. I know I can't do it all alone, so I plan to work at Intel, AMD, or Nvidia to do so.

I already know it takes a lot of work to make an impact on the world. I thought that was a bit of common sense, so I didn't state it. I just see this site as helping some people through life. Those people might make a difference too, but I don't think it would be credited to this site.

So I still don't know if you were agreeing or disagreeing.

I just sort of felt like you were trying to insult my intelligence by stating the obvious. That may seem why I was a bit defensive, or harsh.

Again I see this site as more of a social site. I think this one has its advantages too, which is why I go here more than others. For I see others giving insight into life, and how to deal with some of it. I rarely see that on facebook, myspace, etc.

Yes, they are helping other members on the website but is it changing the world? Is it making the world a better place?
If they wanted to really make everything better, they would have started to do something it's been a long time but they still haven't done anything.

If you want this world to be better then you have to stop all those stupid people doing bad things. Let's say there's a person called A. A doesn't help people, he only cares about money etc. Many people think A is a good person, others say he's a bad person, and he really is. But the dollars need to stop the bad people no? Many dollars hate A, others like A.
Those who like him think he is good because he says so.

I've been taking on some of the missions that were posted, but I never actually thought of making a change in the world. I just thought "Hey, these guys have missions that will help other people.. If it's for a good cause I guess I'll join". I joined a few non-profit organisations and the leadership team in my school (so that I can promote sponsoring kids in Africa who need supplies to survive) to help people. I never think about changing the world, because only societies can do that. I do what I think is right and have started way before I found this website. I can understand how eople who watched the Anime thinking "Oh wow I am so cool cause I just joined this online gang" annoy you, but some of us have wanted to help others long before finding this forum. This site just helps to come up with ideas as a community to help others (via missions section).. But yeah, I see your point as well and I think it's very reasonable, but why don't you just leave other people to do whatever instead having to burst their bubble? Leave them to think whatever they want. They don't need others to tell them what this site is for and what they really are. Personally, I've never told anyone I was part of this forum, because that'd be weird.. Other people should be able to do things that they want though cause... Freedom.. lol.. Yeah this is getting too long anyways.. bye..
