I'm tired of the social justice mindset that is poisoning our species. I can't help but feel that it creates too narrow a view of the world, which causes people to focus all of their attention on the suffering of a few, and demonize anyone they don't find worthy of pity. The social justice mindset perpetuates a vile "us vs them" ethos that further drives people apart. All suffering and oppression is horrible, regardless of it's source or target, and all people experience it, simply by existing. No one group is to blame, and no one victim is more important. Race, gender, religion, etc.: They are, in all their myriad forms, equal. A transgendered atheist POC is worth no more or no less than a cis-het Protestant male, and vice versa.

In short, I can't shake the feeling that the social justice worldview serves only to highlight our differences, while ignoring the inherently equal value of akk humans. It is a wedge that perpetuates the very problems it's adherents claim it can solve.

"Social justice" is little more than a societal psychotoxin, a teratogenic cancer of our capacity for empathy.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

YES YES, very much love. I've always thought this way, even though I still get angry when people despise certain taboos, I also despise when it brings too much attention to one group where everyone's fighting over how much they suffer, 'le~!

I agree that some "social justice warriors" are definitely too devoted to the cause, to the point that they end up being assholes about it. Sometimes these people are too narrow minded and get offended about things that they shouldn't even be offended by, or they jump to conclusions and stuff. And they end up being as toxic as their oppressors.

But the thing is, yeah we're all humans but we have to recognize that we're all different in our own ways. And yeah we're all equal in theory, that's the way it's supposed to be. We're not ignoring that, but we want to point out that we're not TREATED like we're all equal. It's NOT how it's supposed to be. Social equality doesn't exist right now, and in order to fix that, we have to highlight what makes the under-privileged different from the privileged. That way both groups can get to fixing things. And moving as close as we can get to social equality. Doing this would require a lot of /sympathy from the privileged, not empathy. But sympathy and compassion without empathy is just as good.

In the end, what can I say? Sorry that seeing them fighting for equal rights is a disturbance to you.

It's not the desire for equality that bothers me, but the utter contempt SJWs hold for anyone they perceive to be "privileged", and the common belief that being privileged bestows upon some a duty to someone else. No one owes anyone else anything.

"Equality" is a social construct that cannot exist independent of the power structures that define our societies. Look at nature, for instance. Social equality doesn't exist. When I mentioned equality in the OP, I was speaking of equality of value. Some people will always have more in terms of wealth and opportunity, but that has no bearing on value.

I guess what really bothers me is the common SJW assumption that suffering is equivalent to moral superiority.

Okay, I can hear you out on that somewhat. I misunderstood some parts, sorry about that.

I'm with the idea that perfect social equality isn't something that can exist. I didn't mean in terms of wealth, but opportunity? Maybe. Social equality is stuff like simple civil rights. If everyone has equal value like you say, they should all be reaping similar benefits. (By benefits, I mean protection of their basic human rights.) And yeah it's not anyone's duty as a privileged person to help others, but shouldn't they be asking themselves "Why don't I /make it my duty to help them?" Because, you know, sympathy? Charity? Love they neighbor and all. Why wouldn't they want to help people who need help?

I personally don't hate groups as a whole– just the jerks or bigots that are mixed in there. But I understand why others do, and I can't really stop them because when you're repeatedly hurt by that same group of people it can get hard not to. They meet a lot of more privileged people with screwed up morals, so they learn to expect the worst. They just don't want to take the same shit from different people of the same group over and over. That's really all I can say about it I think.
