I don't miss my parents when i'm away (7)

Well it's just like the title says. Often times I go away with my friends without my parents, and during this time I often gets calls and texts from them asking how i am. I always answer out of being nice, but thats really it. After i get back i'm greeted by a "did you miss us" and all i can answer is a "yeah" but honestly i just dont. I dont hate my parents, although sometimes they bother me. Is this weird? Im wondering if anyone else has similar feelings

Me personally, if I left home for a long time, I would miss only two people, my mom and grandma, BUT I don't think NOT missing anyone is weird. I think after a while you just kind of want this freedom from home. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, it's just you like being independent and away from them. It's not bad.

You sound like a teenager. I'm the same way. I love my parents dearly but at the end of the day i just want to do my own thing.

I know that feel, whenever I'm away from home, I often don't think twice about missing anyone. The sad thing is that I don't miss anyone in any situation, even death. I love and appreciate everyone, even if I don't miss them. If you love your parents, then that's all that matters, it just means that you are independent and do your own thing. Nothing to worry about.

I'm 18 and left home nearly a year ago. I didn't miss my parents at the start and still don't miss them now as much as what i feel i should. I dont think there is anything weird about it, it's just part of being a teenager i think

Depends on the parents IMO, even some decent parents can be worse than no parents at times. I personally don't care about them more than my moral compass tells me to care about 'a parent'

It is normal not to miss them, and it is normal for them to miss you. Most of the time the child is the parents life, while the parents usually aren't the child's life. My life is more focused on school and making something of myself in the tech field. While my parents life isn't about work anymore, but more about the children. It could also be a part of nostalgia for them, since most people, who are older, look back in life. The youth tend to look forward and not back as well.

I miss them after a while when I notice some things they did for me, but I don't miss them enough to worry.
