Is it really that hard? (13)

Is it really that hard to not be depressed? Can you not relax for one day and forget about your troubles? Do you really have to be so depressed that you ask strangers on the internet for help?

if you are asking this, it's clear that you know nothing about depression
no. it's almost impossible. the problem is, even when you feel happy or relaxed, you still feel that inner pain, that bad sensation.

Most people are usually conflicted about one thing or another, so matter how small or big the problem is. People can be depressed and still not have 'Depression'. Usually, when you'are upset about something, most people would tell you 'You need to talk to someone about it'. 'Depression' or 'Chronic Depression' has the qualities of 'just having a bad day', but 'Chronic Depression' is more severe, lasts longer and occurs frequently. People suffering from the illness 'Depression', have difficult getting motivation and a depressed for weeks, even months at a time.

To answer your question though, I suppose I do feel relaxed and trouble free, and, I make sure I have one of 'Those days' often, but there is always going to be something I'll worry about. I worry about my grades at university. I'm passing with a decent score, but it's not good enough to continue my course after the general 3 year period. I worry about my love life, because the thing I most want and look forward to in my future is having my own family but I haven't had a girlfriend yet and I can't see myself having one anytime soon. It frustrates me because I know how to improve my situation but it's a difficult hill to climb, and even when I get over that hill, there will be a new set of hills with more worries, ever multiplying.

When it comes to asking strangers on the net for help. It's more like asking for an unrestrained opinion. People on the internet are straight forward with you when it comes to serious topics. Everybody likes to talk about themselves, depending on whether they have an developed an opinion on the topic. I generally don't have much of an opinion for anything, but because this is something I've thought about often, I'm happy to share.

Although, when angsty teens sometimes post some shitpost about there shitty adolencence because the best friend kept a secret from them or there parents keep telling them what to do, I find it annoying and I kinda want to punch the ungrateful little shitfuckers in the dick.

>>3 Yep. Depression is an issue that you cannot overcome alone. That much is a psychologivcal fact. But even if you just use the word to say you feel sad, there's nothing wrong about wanting to receive help when you are feeling down.

Atleast if you passing your personal problems to other humans, it wouldn't really look hard for you. -_-
Humans have their own story. There are passages how they came ended searching for advices from strangers.
In that situation, maybe that depressed potato has no friends, or no one like him/her,that's why he/she dont have any idea how to do it.
And also, maybe its hard for her/him because maybe his/her life is ordinary and plain that the only thing he/she could think is that problem. Maybe that problem is the one stopping him/her to continue his life.
Too complicated, right?
That's the feeling of being depressed.
Well,You could say that like it's nothing because you're not in the situation.
Wanna know the feeling?
Try to be depressed. Answer it alone, face it alone, with no family and friends or anyone accompanying you.
Let's see how you'll handle it.

And also, problems will still be there no matter what you'll do.
If you relax for one day, someday it'll come back chasing you.
Thats why, majority of WISE humans decide to face it on the spot.

>>1 mate... If you read the stories in the SH thread you would know how many people on here can't even go to someone they know who will listen or not discriminate against them.

Not to mention it's easier speaking anonymously with strangers about shit that's going on. That's why therapy works for some because they don't know the person they're talking to and a (good) therapist will never look down on you or make you feel at fault.

So pretty much the gist of depression is "Depression=Loneliness"

>>10 It's a bit more complicated than that. Loneliness is one of the symptoms but not the entirety of the problem all summed up. I wish I could find that perfect comic on Tumblr which described so wonderfully and explicitly, but here's an exams
