Should I keep my job? (7)

I got a part-time job earlier this summer and I'm making a good amount of money ($9/hour), but there are a few things that I really don't like about this job. One thing is the hours. I'm working 2nd shift (4 pm to 1 am) and at first it didn't bother me, but now I don't really have time to do anything unless it's my day off because I sleep until about 11:00 or 12:00 then I have to be at work again at 4.

Another thing that I really don't like about this job is that all of my co-workers, on a daily basis, complain about how much they hate the job or hate working where we work. I mean yeah working's not always going to be fun, but it makes it worse when all you do is complain about it. I'd rather work somewhere where my fellow employees are at least content with their working environment. It's really bringing me down and I've already started putting in applications to other places because I'm not sure how much more negativity I can take.

Right now, my plan is to wait until I have another job set up and then quit my current job. However, I'm not sure I can make it that long. I'm starting to think that maybe I'll wait until the summer's over and then quit, regardless of whether or not I have another job lined up.

I'd like to know what plan of action you guys would suggest I take, and if you have your own suggestion on what I should do I'd like to hear it.

I think you should quit, but only after finding a new job. It can be a pain to stay, but you don't know how much time it will last. To stay 4 or 5 months without money would be a problem.
But, as an option, you could try to better the mood on your actual work. There are many ways to raise the mood of your coworkers. Work on that.

Except for the pay, it sounds like perfection! What part of US are you in? I might be interested in applying. I work best with negativity, and find night shift desirable.

9 bucks an hour is kind of low. I work as a delivery driver for pizza and make around 10-20 an hour. But our store is a lot more busy than most others too. Tip jobs tend to be better if you don't plan on working a lot of hours. But there are plenty of jobs that you work 50+ hours a week and get a lot from the overtime pay.

I would first find a new job before quitting if you need the money.

Gain schizophrenia then talk all day to your new friends at work

If you hate it,then just quit it.
No point making your life harder.
