Okay, so I'm a student at ITT Technical Institute, and I'm 2 semesters into a degree for Electronic Engineering. From the beginning I knew this isn't what I wanted to do, (they messed up and put me in the wrong course) but I didn't switch out because it would end up costing me more money to do what I wanted to do. Basically my point is this time has come to go through financial aid again for more classes and I'm stuck with the decision of whether or not to drop out and do something else later. Please help.

Money wise you should just stay with what you have but personal wise follow your heart and do what you want.

Hmm...well, one important factor is what you do want to do. Is your desired degree closely related to Electronic Engineering? Or do you have a specific alternative in mind? If Electronic Engineering is not going to enable you to do what you want to do long term, then you might just end up either going back for more school (which would cost more money than switching your degree I assume) or working a job you dislike (and avoiding that is worth some serious cash!). I am hoping your first two semesters included a good bit of general stuff that will count toward a different degree? Also, this might be a good topic to take up with someone at ITT tech who is in a position to help.

I did talk to them but they just want to do everything they can to keep me enrolled. What i want to do is something with music so this is completely different. What I wanted to do was IT instead of engineering, but I've gotten highest honors both quarters going through engineering. I'm hard pressed to find a degree that actually pertains to the part of music I want to do but i'm looking.

Wow idk. Sounds like a tough call. If you got top marks in a program you didn't like I'll bet you'd do well if you were doing something you enjoyed more too. Would you be interested in majoring in IT and minoring in music somewhere? Alternatively, IT is the kind of industry you can get into on ground level for pretty solid pay with A+ certification and/or Microsoft certification right? Those are the sorts of things you can prep for and acquire on your own. Just some thoughts.

Well I mean I don't have any certifications yet. Part of the deal with my parents is if I drop out I have to get at least 3 of my certifications by the end of summer. I want to major in music because it's what I want to do, but as far as IT I kinda learned most of what I needed to know on my own over the years, which is another reason why I don't want to go to school for it.

Three of the certifications by the end of summer sounds challenging. But if you think you could do it that might be great! I mean that way you can find IT work without having to go to school for IT. I don't think that not having a college degree would limit your advancement opportunities too much either. And then you could study music in school. I know some people who pursue music work day jobs to support them in their musical endeavors so maybe IT could do that for you! I guess that's what I'd do, but I'm sure I don't fully understand the complexities of your dilemma. Choices are tough. I hate 'em! Good luck.
