Hi, i think its been a year but i haven't made up my mind yet. I am deciding what course im getting, it sucks cause i dont know. Litterally, i dont know. My family asked if i had made my decision, and i said not yet. "what are you good at?" They asked, "I DONT KNOW" . It makes me think what am i good at? I suck at math. I hate history. I think i have a hearing problem because sometimes i kept saying "what was that again?" Many times and i still dont get what they're saying. So sometimes im unsure if the information i got was correct. Some people just say im dumb/unrealiable. Anyway, i like english. And all i did this summer is watch anime. I like anime A LOT. so at first i thought "why not IT? its computer related so it must be interesting." But then my sister talked how IT was so hard. I think shes preventing me to take the course. Which worked, theres another course i want to take And its nursing. Im afraid that if i fail ill just dissapoint my family. for once i want to show them that im not dumb or unrealiable. i want to show them what im good at. So yeah i got only a month before enrollment. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

So just to lay it out there the first two year of college is just basic classes that almost every major requires. But It is not easy finding out what one wants to do. I still don't know what the hell I want to do. It more of a matter of what you enjoy to do, not what your good at. If you have the drive and determination you can set out to do whatever you want.

If this is your first year then just take freshman classes. Like English, math, science, etc. You can pick later what you want and maybe you will stumble upon an extra class you want to take. Mine was probably Japanese in college, but I took all the other main courses.

I´ll tell you what I was taught. Don´t think I´m a bad person for such. I was taught that, if I want to do a course just because I like it and that I´ll do better in what I like to do, I´ll be the junk of society. Money... that´s what makes the World go around. That´s what gives you access to do whatever you want to do. Go to anime conventions? Want to stick with your hobbies and tastes? You need money. I wanted to be a Biologist, and a scientist in Chemistry field. The society I live in is broken, as the market field for these subjects doesn´t pay you what they are worth of. I´d starve, have a difficult time finding a good place to live with the payment I´d receive from these fields. People who work in the Law field, here, have a great income, and they can do whatever they want, anywhere. You can´t hear well, but I bet you can read well. It´s not a matter of surviving, but a matter of living well. Why don´t you look for a course that´ll give you a better income in the field of your choise, while searching for a field that´ll suit your needs? Even if you don´t like the field, as you´ll do well, it´ll depend of your will to have it done, and in the field that´ll give you enough to live your life the way you want to. We only have one life, one chance to live this life as we please, so choose wisely what course you´ll be taking, not only because it´s something you like/enjoy/is good at. Choose the course by analizing the opportunity it´ll give to you in the market field, in the future. ;)

hm... maybe thinking of not disapointing your family isn't the right approach to your problem. I learned the hard way that your family always being there for you isn't a given, as most people tell us it is. So, I'd tell you to picture yourself in the future and imagine what you would like to see. Is the most important thing to you to help others? To have a comfortable life? To get recognition from your peers? To do something you love? From that, you could start observing people around you and in the media and the careers they've chosen, research about these careers and decide upon the one that suits you the most. How does that sound?

Don't worry about first year so much because if you don't like what you are studying you can always change the subject in the second year. I just finished my first year thinking I would major in English, but recently I found out I don't like it as much as I thought I would, so I'm going to study something science related in September.

If you are interested in nursing and you like helping people, then give it a try. Though to become a nurse you'll need to take biology and chemistry courses in your first year.

If you don't know what you want to do yet, just enroll in something that interests you and get good marks so you can get into a grad/professional program after you graduate.

PS. IT is mostly computer coding, which means you will need to be good at math.

I decided what I want to study just a week before sending the application forms. Most of my classmates knew what they wanna do from the start, so I understand what you are saying.
I would recommend you to study something you like, if it is nursing then do it but be prepared that it might not be as easy. If you like english than study it and dont mind what others say. (As easy as it is to say I know it,s harder in real life )
Dont just give up from the start because you think you might disappoint someone.

I hate computers, sounds boring. Why not join the military? Sounds like a good place for you by the looks of it. Im in the Navy and I work on guns both big and small, its tough work but very satisfying and I take a lot of pride in it. If you not a manual labor guy you could go IT that involves mainly computers and systems and if your just looking to cruse by your time without doing a whole lot of work you could be an SH that involves a wide variety of common jobs like doing the crews laundry, cutting hair, manning a shop, and filling vending machines are some of the easy ones you do, and no matter what your job/rate is you still get paid the same as everyone else according to your paygrade/rank. Take a look it might be worth your time.
