Why is it acceptable to judge based on modification? (8)

Can someone explain how society makes it acceptable to say "you have tattoos and piercing you look unprofessional" like how the hell does that work. Youre telling me you teach children not to judge a book by its cover but you're unwilling to hire someone or Deam them lower than average based on what modification they chose for their own body? What if I have the skills to become a successful heart surgeon but you deny me because my right arm has a sleeve or tattoos? Is it unprofessional on my part or yours? I'm more than qualified to work and be a great citizen so please let me know how you can say otherwise based off looks, rationally explain to me how that logic plays.

Preach ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ I know plenty of people who have 4 piercings like me and and they're the polar opposite of 'delinquints'

I agree. I think that it is unreceptive and backward to judge people based on what they do to their body. My brother has tattoos and is constantly judged by other people. What they don't take into account is that he is a kind, smart hardworking guy with a family at home. People who don't realize that other people have lives deserve the prejudice that they so easily dump on others.

>>1 I know what you are saying, but you also have to understand their point of view, in an office type of job they want a more professional clean smart look to their employees, also just as long as you can cover up you're tattoos interview it's fine.

That's true. It's just annoying when people prejudge someone's character, no matter what the reason.

Same thing with judging people off their grades. You get shit grades, you're unlikely to get hired, when in reality you could have had a death in the family, been bullied extensively, or had a dispute with a teacher that dropped your average 25%. Look at it form the employer's perspective, do you have enough time to go and ask all those people with the shitty grades how their life went while they were getting them? No, you don't even have enough time to even do that for the people with good grades.

Do you think even hiring someone based off an interview, one 2-3 minute conversation with someone? Not really, it's not a good representation of what they're like or how good of a worker they are. But, you have to do it. There's just not enough time. That goes for judging people personally too, sort of. You're too curious, you have to come to conclusions and it takes too long to get accurate information for yourself.

Unfortunately, they don't really have to find the best worker. That isn't even really their goal. They want a good, reliable employee. If it takes them a lot more effort to get someone better, there's a limit at which it doesn't make a difference to them anymore.

I think there is a logical backing to why they judge people. You can at least see why they do. From your position, one person getting hired, you'd think it's dumb they wouldn't hire you based on something like that. But from theirs, it's hundreds of people, and some of them have taken care of their appearance to others, so they gather they'd care about the company more from that and hiring is much easier with less people to choose from.

Personally, it's obvious tattoos don't make any difference on your work ethic, but I'm not an employer.

Don't get retarded tattoos and people won't think you are retarded.
(Not saying all tattoos are retarded, just that most of them are)
