boy trouble (5)

Recently my boyfriend of 2 years and I have been getting into a lot of fights. I made a new friend who is also a guy, and we've been talking a lot. The night of this dance that was last Saturday I found out he was interested in me and since he always cheered me up and made me happy I had real small attraction towards him as well. My boyfriend and I got into a fight yesterday and we broke up and I was a little okay but not blubbering. My boyfriend found out I somewhat liked my friend and was being rude by saying " go buy the condoms I bought" ad told me yesterday I dress like a slut. My boyfriend lives with me so if we broke up he'd leave. So while I was trying to convince him to stay at the end he said he was done and went to pack I tried to stop him while crying but he didn't so I sat on the bed. He laid down after this. I finally accepted it was over and thanked him and hoped that we'd still be friends. He started crying. I asked him why and he said he didn't want to leave. So I said okay, then dont. So we are together, but I can't help to feel like I made a mistake. I'm no longer able to talk to my friend even in school. I just need help and advice. Can I please have any input?

First of all, no matter the circumstance, do not get back together with your ex. It is a temporary solution to a permanent problem and you broke up before because your relationship had changed and if you get back together you will just have another fight and break up. Your boyfriend sounds like he is angry because he feels powerless over the circumstances of your breakup. That's not your fault, that's his. Be there if he needs it but be sure to remind him that you and him are over and that nothing will change that. Eventually he will overcome the pain and sadness and move on, and it's your choice who you get to know and who you date, not his, don't let his anger deter you. He needs to leave your house.
How you are letting him stay could be giving him false hope and that's dangerous, because him staying at your home could be symbolic for your relationship.

It's always sad to have to break up after such a long time of being a constant factor in someones life, and having someone be there in yours.

I went through something like that recently with my girlfriend. We got into a lot of fights, in a row. Like three or four a week. After a while, her being the one with the brains decided to have us sit down and write down what we didn't like about each other.

I read what she didn't like that I did, and she read what I didn't like what she did. We agreed that when either one of us did it, we wouldn't freak out, we wouldn't wait to boil and blow up, we would just simply say, "Hey, you did that thing I don't like" and then the other would simply apologize. It's how you never have fights (unless you forget calender dates, or screw something up)

If you want to know if you made a mistake or not, flip a coin.

Heads, You should be together.
Tails, You should break up for good.

You don't need to leave it to chance, because as soon as you flip the coin, you know which one you hope it lands on.

I don't know how old you are, but you said "school" and "lives with me" so I'm guessing 20's 30's?

It matters because if you want to break up for good, you have time to go through break up purgatory, regret your decision, fall, slowly regain strength, lift your arms, pick yourself up, wobble as you stand again, take everything bad from the relationship as experience to not repeat, take everything good from the relationship as experience to absolutely repeat , and smile and move forward.

If you really think its the best choice, then break up.

If it can still be fixed, repair it, and love it even if it is a little broken.

At the very least, just know that in a few months from today, you can either be happy with him, or still happy because you've moved on and are still strong.

I wish you nothing but happiness, and well being, Turtle.
Never forget you have The Dollars to help you out.
