Am I Unusual For Not Wanting Attention (9)

1 Name: Unidentified_Meh : 2015-02-06 10:28 ID:aPoqAkJj [Del]

I've always been a little offbeat, and I'm well aware of it. I walk alongside the walls, I bury myself in a book or draw pictures (usually faceless :) its actually pretty). I'm enclosed in my own personal bubble and I'm not one to be put in the spotlight. For the most part, people just ignore me. But lately I've been gaining a lot of attention. Positive or negative, I'm not entirely sure. A couple times when I walk past a group of people I may hear my name, or I may catch someone out the corner of my eye looking at me. My friend (who just so happens to be social butterfly) always tell me "They probably are just spreading rumors that you're just a little awkward." She may be right but it bothers me though. I used to feel so safe and calm; now I feel as if I'm under a microscope being inspected. Can someone help?

I'm guessing you are in high school and female? If that's the case then yeah it's prime time for the others to find a target to harass. And who better than someone who tends to themselves and never hurt anyone. I'm a guy and I could say I'm the same as you but people don't start rumors or talk about me behind my back because I guess I scare them. At least that's what I've heard. Anyway the only reason it's starting now is because you are different and others are taking notice. My advice, either be more sociable and try to stretch your bubble or intimidate people... But then again those might not work. I'm sorry I couldn't be any more helpful.

P.S. Sorry if you are a guy, but then I suggest intimidating people that works best for guys.

I'm a girl. Thanks for the advice, I guess I could attempt to be more sociable. Either that or intimidate like you suggested.

You got some good advice from Tokachi :) I'm being my utmost honest here when I say I had a wide-eye moment while reading you draw faceless people, in a good way though. If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason you do so?

I've been in the almost exact situation. I do this thing with myself, you know that weird eye thing that horses wear that makes them only look straight ahead? Pretend you have those in life. And think of every situation as a chance for you to grow.

I draw them because I used to have dreams about me living without a face. I find it fascinating and scary all at the same time. Its a kind of release to draw it.

I understand that, I spend a lot of my time drawing. I don't really draw faces either but it's because I can't draw two eyes symmetrically!!!

>>7 That is probably one of the most interesting reasons I've come across O_O...that sounds awesome and I support!

>>8 I must be honest and say that's an interesting reason lol But you can always try if you like

I also don't draw faces because as a kid I was told never to draw them as they invite spiritual beings. So I got scared and still never draw them!
