I really want to make some close internet friends but I doubt know how to make friends on the internet. What sites should I use.

Playing online games is a start. You can also use DRRR!! Chat.

It usually helps to start out on sites where friends from real life can introduce you to/point out people they're friends with. Be careful though!

Online games can be a group source, as suggested by Von. I met a small group of friends almost 10 years ago on FFXI and we have been chatting and playing games together ever since. We met each other a few times during vacations as well.

Another way I found was using an international pen pal website. Most of the people I communicated with ceased communication fairly quickly, but there is one person with whom I have been chatting with for over a year.

I also briefly thought about the chat rooms, but I have to admit some have pretty sketchy names.... Take that as you will.

I would echo Anonymous' comment though; please be careful. I wouldn't rush out to meet someone right away and even then it is probably safest to only do so for a brief time in a very public place.

What gaming sites are good? I'm not that bad at gaming but do you know one that's good for beginners. And preferably free

you could always talk to people on many different sites. I have a few close friends on YouTube and I also have some on Vine. Just open up to people, it's hard but you'll find some people that actually want to talk :)

People in the DRRR chat are some fun people, so go check the chat rooms out.

Normally, the easiest way to get to know likeable people is to join a forum that is related to one of your hobbies (e.g. gaming, anime, manga, books etc.). That way, you'll have at least one topic to talk about with the other party.

Other than that, I can only support what others have said so far: Try as many ways as possible (forums, chat rooms, online games, messengers etc.), but be careful with what you reveal about yourself! Better play it safe and get to know someone thoroughly instead of rushing into something and doing something regrettable.

Don't be disappointed if you can't make any friends on the spot. If the other party is really interested in becoming your friend, they will stick with you. Most people I've gotten to know via the internet had been my regular chat pals for several months to a year before we exchanged any personal info.

Are you looking into making specifically online friends, or just frowns in general? Like others have said, it is best to take a shot at making friends in the IRC, Drrr chat, or what have you but be wary of giving out your personal information so quickly.

I made some long-lasting friendships off a modding website when I was a kid. I've known them for over a decade now and still stay in regular contact with them. I think this is in part due to the collaberation we did for the overall community. Getting involved with something is really the best way. My newer friends were made from helping them start their website.

I typically don't make friends just by being present, I try to stay active and play games (or otherwise) with new people.

I feel the same way. I used to have lasting friendships, but then depression hit and I've been pretty distant every since. An easy one is gaiaonline. I'm on there too as Rishe-iro.
Chatrooms are nice too. Just enter, and say hello. Maybe it'll last, maybe it won't, but your efforts won't go unnoticed.

An easy way to meet new potential internet friends is through chatrooms like the drrrchat, or through this website (This is how I met one of my best friends)
After that, if you really like the person you're talking to, then exchange Skype, Kik etc. So you can stay in contact with them.
A few tips I've learnt over my time on the internet:
- Don't be afraid to be the one to say hi first. It took me a while to get used to this, but getting over your nerves and starting the conversation first is a lot better than being too nervous and missing out on a great friend.
- Be careful how much information you share with your internet friend. Even though you feel as though you trust their internet persona, you don't know them irl, so just be weary
- If they haven't replied in a while, ask them if they are okay. They might just be too nervous to answer since they've left the conversation hanging for so long
- Other than that, just have fun!!

I want a friend :3

>>17 Aggie-tan will be Zieriko and Von's friend! (´∀`) Just let yourself go and be yourself on the internet, it's much easier to make friend on here in my opinion v(〜^∇^)〜
