ok then, its just getting really annoying that every time someone mentions anything its just *pulls out phone* followed by "My phone can do this, can yours? wait no it cant..." or am i the only one who notices...
It's just how society is. Society is a living thing, just like we all are. We are society's DNA, and we are its emotions, and its soul. And like all living species, it must constantly adapt to its surroundings in order to survive. Since phones have become such important factors in our lives, so too have they become important to society. And since there are so many different phone types and companies out there, we feel the need to compete with each other and try to prove ours is the better phone; so that society isn't so divided, we feel the need to try to unify it under our own choices and ideals.
