Me and my father have never been on good terms ever since i was 4, and recently i told him that i never want to see him again. I felt so bad, but he has never been a father my whole life. I need some advice on what to do. I gave him one more chance to talk it over with me, but he hasn't said anything. Please help me, I am feeling really depressed lately because of it. If anyone could help me, I would be very thankful

My dad cut off ties with us as well.I gave him a chance but in the end its their choice, you can't make him or force out. It's nice not having the stress of dealing with him and idc he's gone since he wasn't much of a dad but that's just my option. If you stay in touch then you stay in touch but if not it just is what it is.

You'll definitely regret it, trust me. It's better to just suck it up and find out what's wrong. If he really won't tell you or talk to you at all, well, that's something different. I can't offer help there. But if you don't try your hardest to amend, you will regret it.

Thank you guys, but he never did anything so far to try to amend anything. I have also tried all my life to keep in touch, and it hasn't worked. So, if anyone can help me with that, it would be really helpful.
