Moral/Religious Dilemma (6)

1 Name: C.Coffee : 2014-12-25 13:01 ID:LpoTCEqH [Del]

Hi everybody!

I wanted to hear an opinion over a dilemma that has been shredding me in half for a month or so on.
I am Catholic. I do believe in most of the teachings that the Holy Bible preaches, and I also try to have a respectful, forgiving and caring behaviour towards everybody following Jesus example, but I feel somewhat dubious toward some dogmatic revelations (ex. Trinity).

Yet, I've been interested in Wiccan beliefs and witchcraft. I'm fascinated by the view of Nature that they have and I found the practice of white and green magic truly interesting: yet, I do not follow their polygamous belief of the Goddess and the God.
The Wicca cult let their partecipants belive in whatever religion they wish to believe in; on the other hand, I think we all know how Christians see witches and magic in general.
I don't believe in magic but I think that rituals, mineral and stones vibrations and herbs, along with creative and artistic activities such as holding a Book of Shadows, might have beneficial effects in a solely psychological way.

My question is: is it possible to believe in two opposite religions without disrespecting the rules of both?

Well this is very interesting. It's a yes and no type of thing but it mostly leans towards no. You can partake in activities but if it dissrepcets the rules of the other then that's a problem. If it gets to far out of hand you may end up having to choose what religion to follow. I am a secret Evolutionist but i've never told my parents bc they are Catholic.

i don't think so,every religion have rules, diferent ways to pray and etc.believing in two opposite religion will disrespect both of them, the only choice is too just follow one religion

I agree with >>3 besides its already stated in Catholicism that you should only believe in one god alone.(i.e theirs)

Religion by definition is divine...perfect...you cant believe in both. I don't think you should believe in one at all. But your dilemma is a proof that religion is not what it claims to be. You can see the beuty of nature as you sayd. Without both of them...

>>1 of course it's possible! Religion is an extremely personal system of beliefs when you really get down to it. Granted it can seem a religion has to be a cookie-cutter set of beliefs but it doesn't have to be. In fact I think that if you get a little creative with it, mix a few things together and come up with your own (healthy and non-harmful) set of beliefs, it's even better.
So even if on paper your beliefs may oppose each other, personally they must not oppose each other based of the fact that you believe in both at the same time.
I hope that this helps~!
