I read a book a few years ago… and now I can't remember the title basically.
the storyline is something like this: a boy either 12 or 14 gets to meet his great aunt and he's told he's lucky that he gets to meet one that old. and his mom was dating some jerk who tells this boy that his mom didn't want hm but due to the laws at the time she couldn't have an abortion and something about a ring being an heirloom and is given to him. if you have the slightest lead I'd take it please! thank you!

I know... I've tried so hard thinking about the name. and I need help! yea it's hard to go by but that's all I can remember from after reading it 6 years ago.
