Advice On Homophobic Parents Please (5)

Hey there I was hoping to get some advice on the situation that I'm going through.

Some background knowledge is that I am lesbian and my best friend is very christian but says theres nothing wrong with being gay. I was her first best friend because she's pretty shy and she was my first love but we all knew that it would never work so I threw all those feelings away. The summer of our senior year her parents found out that I was gay and told her she wasn't allowed to see me or text me so we went the whole summer without contact which sucked so much but once school started again she started texting me again because her parents weren't around her at college.

Everything was great again and we were both happy but then her parents again found out that she had been lying to them and threatened to take her out of school which she has a scholarship for and they told her that she can't talk to me at all. I'm pretty sad now but I'm a bit angry at her because she still listens to them when she knows that they're being ridiculous. I want to talk to her but I know I would just make things worse if I tried to talk to her right now. I don't know what to do. Please help.

First, respect her parents decision. Show them that you are not a bad influence to their daughter. I'll be frank 'cause I think that's what they are thinking right now. Second don't make her disobey her parents that will just lead to family problems much worse than your problem at hand. That's all I've got. Hope this helps.

>>3 You're not a bad influence but they think you are. They're afraid their little girl is going to go gay if she hangs around with you. That's complete bullshit, of course, but that's how their little minds have to justify it.

There's nothing wrong with talking to her. Keep doing so. >>2's advice would only apply if she was still in her mandatory schooling and such, but she's in college. It's her decision now.

And how on earth are her parents going to "take her out" of college without her permission when she has a scholarship to pay for it? I don't see how that's legally possible in any way even if she's underage.
