Meditation (7)

Recently I started meditating for twice a day and I've noticed some very odd things happening to me while in a meditative state.

1.I felt as though something from inside me was being lifted from my body.

2.Lights started to appear before my eyes.

3.I felt chills all over my body.

People say that there is the mind, body, and soul.
In this experience I noticed three things about myself.

1. My body.
2. This thing that is unseen but I could feel it.
3. This thing that was observing it all and collecting it into memory.

In the beginning I started to meditate in order to see if it would help with my depression and anxiety. However this has caught me completely off guard. Is this normal or should I seek help? This is only for people who have seriously attempted meditation.

There is nothing wrong with you.

I've been meditating for roughly a year and those feelings you have are completely natural, especially the feelings of light, weightlessness, and chills, though mine usually travel down my spine and across my shoulder blades.

It's also very common to become self aware of your body's whole shape, deep breathing can also assist in awareness. As for the physical feeling of something unseen, that is probably your subconsciousness trying to communicate with you especially since you mentioned it was observing you. Your subconscious, just like your conscious are both influenced by your imagination. If you come into contact with that feeling, try reaching out to it with your thoughts, you might be able to peer into your deepest feelings.

Don't worry anon, apparently if you get good enough with meditation you can experience past life regression! But don't take Crowley's word for it...

You should meditate only when searching peace of mind. And actually yoga is one of the good way to do it... (also it gets you more flexibility.) I am not sure how normal it is, but as long as you de-stress and quiet down from it is a positive response.

These things you are experiencing are normal for newbies that meditate. The thing that you feel being lifted is you Subconscious or your soul. The Lights you see could be another detention (depending on how well you can meditate.) or your third eye opening. The chills can often mean that your body is settling. Your fine as long as you don't see any negative energy or negative energy beings your doing fine.
