The quest to find something interesting (6)

Well, I am an average student in an average college studying an average course. But lately(by that I mean my whole life) has been boring, If a person asks me to tell him a personal story I would probably say I woke up, took a bath, play games, go to school, go home, and go to sleep.

During my high school days, I was an annoying kid with nothing much going for him, and now I am in my 4th year in college I am somewhat the same. Sure I mature mentally but I never really experience something interesting.

I have not travel, never took risk, or even been in a relationship and I realize that my life has been dull. Well to be fair I just got home from a strip club but like everything else in my life it was dull(Don't get me wrong I did enjoy it but it was somewhat boring). Realizing that my life is mediocre at best I realize that I wan't to live.

I wan't to experience the joy and sorrow of life, to make me feel alive. The joy when my friends talk about the love of their life being around their arms and the sorrow that crushed them when they get dumped, those can be my first step to making my life a bit more interesting.

Well If you guys have some suggestions to help me with my quest to get a girlfriend or you know something deeply interesting that I can do please do tell me.

Thank you for taking your valuable time in reading this wall of words that a dull person desperately wrote in order to make his life a bit more exciting.

"If you truly want to escape from everyday life then you must keep evolving"
You have to try new things, not just getting a girlfriend but other stuff to. go out and do things, live. Your young and have a whole bunch of things you could do, you just have to take a moment to search for all the opportunities around you. Go out and find a little abnormal. Do not fear death fear a life not lived.

I’m not sure if I can be of much help but...
“There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says "Morning, boys. How's the water?" And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes "What the hell is water?""

This is taken from David Foster Wallace’s commencement address called “This is Water”. This is the best advice that I can give you because it really is an eye opener. There’s a ten minute audio version on YouTube, and it’s the best ten minutes that I’ve ever spent. It basically says that it is up to you and your perception of the world to live an enjoyable life. If you're bored, that means you're boring. If you see something as boring, then you just that you have expectations that are not being met. You're waiting for some else to entertain you. Life is exciting, and its your life. Do what you want, do something different. If you do something that you don’t like, or already put in your head that you wont like, then how will you ever enjoy anything. You already know all your problems, so find the answer. Nothing is stopping you but yourself. If you keep doing the same things and see no point in them, then of course it will get repetitive and boring. But remember, it’s you who chooses how to see things. It will only be deeply interesting if you really think it to be.

I read/watch this every now and then I lose steam, which is often. I’m a first year college student still working on finishing my first semester. I was given this speech in my English 101 class because my teacher hated having students who operated on their “default setting”. If he hadn’t shown me this in that first week of class, I wouldn’t have even been here typing this to you. It has forever changed the way I think, and I hope that this helps you in finding joy :)

Well, maybe you should try traveling a bit, thats basically what made me who i am today. If you don't have the money for that, think about what talents you may have. No don't give me some BS about "not having any talents" cuz you have at least one, no matter how small it may seem. anyway seek out your talents and see if there are hobbies that you can do to exercise those talents. You should join different groups of people. It's hard to give advice on what to do since I don't really know you, but I believe that if a person truly wants to change the way they live, then they can do so.
