Once I told a friend of mine that I felt sad and lonely that my cousin, who was close to me and used to play with me a lot when we were kids, went to another state, she laughed and said "wow I'm surprised you can actually feel lonely". I was rather hurt and angry by her words because usually when she comes to me, whining about how she felt that people hate her and that she was lonely, I would try to comfort her, ignoring the point that she doesn't seem like the type to be sad but when I come to her to ask for a little comfort which I rarely do because I trusted her that much to confide about my feelings, all I get is a laugh and words which I feel is mockery. It..just doesn't feel fair at all..

I think she's just being surprised and all. She always confess how lonely she is, because you look reliable and able to stand up for yourself, maybe that's from her viewpoint...that's why when you told her that you feel lonely, she's rather surprised. I guess that's why...
