You should not let her be depressed. Take her out, show her the world's values. Keep her mind off it, take her out with your own friends, and cheer her up. If she does not let you, you should be persuasive, but don't push it. Try once every few days, make sure she earns attention. There's a lot more, but to summarize, show her the world that she could have if she doesn't dies.

Best of Luck,

Don't take the world on your shoulders. Don't get me wrong, keep trying to make her happy! But don't be let down if it doesn't work. I honestly think you need to tell someone who will be able to get her the help that she needs.

Do her parents know about her depression? Does she have a counsellor or psychiatrist? If you personally can't help her, you need to find others who can.

If someone needs help, they need help, don't ever stop trying to help. Everyone needs help, whether it be sometimes, or all the time. If a person needs help, help them.

If she don't want to live by herself then give her another reason for her to live for, talk her to stop being selfish, and tell her that if she die, there'll be a lot of people that will miss her, including you, and will suffer, and if she really care about those people so she needs to fight and live,if not for her,so for those people who loves her.
So fight for your friend,if she don't want to fight for herself so fight YOU for her. Oh and by the way, tell her that are a ton of people out there worst than her and still fighting for their lives,so why she can't? Is she so weak?
P.S.: it comes from someone that also want to be dead, but doesn't have courage enough(yep I'm weak). Trust me,sometimes we don't need someone who stay by our side quiet, but yelling, shaking us and doing this to awake us.

Truly, if one person dies and another person has to left to bear the the pain for it then that should be enough to live for. If she can't see it that way then refer to it another perspective and tell her it a different way. Show her a different reason to live. Because in the end when you look at it in different perspectives(the perspective being her wanting to die and preventing it) you'll be met with the same answer (the answer being that you find a reason for her to live on)

I've been were she is. Truthfully, just tell an adult. She will be angry at first, But once she is actually happy again, she will be so pleased that you did that for her, that someone really cared that much.
