Correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like it's the social rejects, scene kids, emo kids, hipster kids, and maybe some goths (or part goths) who tend to hop on these fads. If my memory is right, all the new wave bisexuals were emos or scene or one of those cliques.
And it's the same thing with all these new things. The transtrenders for instance who are going through a phrase because they're hormonal rather than actually suffering from feeling like they're born into the wrong bodies. They're all seemingly a bunch of hipsters. Maybe some emo and scene scattered here and there.
I could totally be wrong though I mean I've only thought this through a little.
