"This is explained by some members of the otherkin community as possible through reincarnation, having a nonhuman soul."

You niggers don't even understand how reincarnation works.
All souls are exactly the same, it's the same energy that gets recycled, your belief is a mental disorder at worst and a sad cry for attention at best.
:^))

>>3 I don't think it's a mental disorder. I think we all need something to believe in, it helps us get through life.

But, I feel the smaller a community of people is that have the same belief, the more annoying they are.

>>4 Thinking you are not human, is in fact, a mental disorder.

Not to be rude but identifying as what you aren't born as seems to be the new "fashion" these last few years. And it'd be fine if half or even a majority of this new wave in recent times weren't seemingly doing it just to avoid being regular "cis" people, a sort of hated community these days, to try and be unique from "normies". And also a lot of them being impressionable 14-17 year old girls from tumblr or places like tumblr. I mean I'm just saying.

Here's my guess. I could be wrong but this is an anime BBS so that just fuels my suspicions. Here goes. I predict:

OP is a girl, "trans", or a gay boy
OP is from tumblr or reddict or something
OP became otherkin or therian after being on tumblr

There's a degree of spirituality that's cute and a degree that can be considered being mentally ill.

It's one thing to have a vague believe in which you had a past life being a person from the past.

It's a completely different thing to think you have the soul and vague memories of a (mythological being from ancient times that was wiped out by the human race or is in hiding / fictional character / popular animal with some complex society unknown to other "normal" humans) and to create a name and entire culture centered around this belief.

I think you can figure out which one of those two is mentally ill. Religion and general spirituality are, at the very least, not anywhere near as self-centered as this concept.

>>11 I agree with you. It can be cute or fun to a certain degree. If, say, someone jokes about it for a while.

However, when a person starts seriously thinking they are not human, it's obvious that they're not mentally stable.

I assume it is a way to get attention, or for them to feel special. Maybe they are unhappy with their lives, so they start thinking they're someone/something else... special, unique, different from others around them?

All in all, it is not normal, and it should be treated.

Does everyone remember years back when suddenly everyone was bisexual

15 Name: BarabiSama !!C8QPa1Mt : 2014-09-11 15:48 ID:o7YaVxEo [Del]

>>14 Sounds like my middle school days. The worst part was all the kids who were "bisexual master race" and bitched about how you were missing half of life if you were straight or gay.

Most of them pretended it never happened by the time senior year rolled around. (Excluding the ones who found Tumblr, of course.)

16 Name: Akagami : 2014-09-11 16:28 ID:JIbqlBf/ [Del]

>>15 Hell I'll even admit that I for a while was casually like "Yeah sure I'm bisexual, I'm not against the idea so I must be it right?" Because it's like when you're young, you think of these things as a game. Identities are fun and wee!

Correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like it's the social rejects, scene kids, emo kids, hipster kids, and maybe some goths (or part goths) who tend to hop on these fads. If my memory is right, all the new wave bisexuals were emos or scene or one of those cliques.

And it's the same thing with all these new things. The transtrenders for instance who are going through a phrase because they're hormonal rather than actually suffering from feeling like they're born into the wrong bodies. They're all seemingly a bunch of hipsters. Maybe some emo and scene scattered here and there.

I could totally be wrong though I mean I've only thought this through a little.

>>16 Let's try to be at least a little sensitive here :T And no, it wasn't just the rejects, though they/we tended to take it more seriously than the rest of the horde.

I was just making an observation. Right or wrong. I didn't meant to come off as insensitive.
