need help with smart casual attire (5)

I posted this in the other board cos im not really sure where this thread should go. So here it goes:

Guys i need an advice with this.
We will have an acquaintance party for our college so it is basically an all-student event and the attire should be either semi formal or smart casual BUT I REALLY WANT to go "punk" but not the hardcore kind of punk. Im just planning to wear studded blouse, black skater skirt and a pair of boots.
Is it okay to go against the said attire? Am i right to assume that it is okay cos it is just a party of students? Heeeelp

That's not okay. That's not smart casual nor semi-formal at all.

If you have them:
Try switching out the skater skirt for a pencil skirt (should be tighter and come just above or just below your knee cap -not a miniskirt or anything flow-y unless it's a dress). If the boots aren't formal (meaning they should be tighter and not go beyond the ankle) then swap out the boots for pumps (short heels, look 'em up; they can be studded or punky or w/e style/color you want for semi-formal). Be sure to wear stockings as well.

And if your blouse is particularly outlandish (it doesn't sound like it is, but I can't see it from here lol), you may want to bring or wear a scarf with it.

That should dress you up enough without being over the top.

I was thinking that it's just fine cos it is only a party of students for students and maybe somebody is thinking the same so they would wear something "unsmart" attire too. But i dont want to regret in the end so thank you :) Im sorry about the other thread btw :)

>>3 It's fine; a lot of people misplace threads around here ;0

What is the party for? Where is it? The mood has an impact on how your outfit'll be taken as well.

Tbh, you'll probably get away just fine with what you said in the first post, so it's up to you in the end.

Do you really think so? Maybe im going to ask some of my classmate if they are thinking the same way i do. So if would go with what i said in thefirst post, it wouldnt be that embarrassing cos im not the only one in an unsmart attire. But if none of them does, ill go with what you said. :)
