Smoke dependents (21)

1 Name: Necro : 2014-07-28 05:58 ID:92siz6Tj [Del]

I'm only 16 and I am sole dependent...
Does anyone have tips on how to stop??

2 Name: Katsono !adtcifLOss!!o+iuw+0S : 2014-07-28 06:52 ID:5Cstl75S [Del]

The fuck is sole dependent ? You can't quit smoking ? Google tells me it's some allowance for poor people though.

Well, if you want to quit, there aren't hundred of ways. You have to fucking reduce the amount you're smoking, and another thing to do is to keep yourself busy and mostly out of stress.

I'd recommend you to start busying yourself all day with a sport or martial arts. And all day, not just one hour or something.

>>2 I think it means that OP is solely dependent on their caregiver? As in, not earning any money of their own to support their habit.

>>3 Well he's only 16 so it seemed weird to me.

>>2 >>3 >>4 Oh you guys.
So lol.
Many laughs.

OP, stopping smoking is hard work.
I can't do it because it's hard to stay out of stress as an adult.
Since you are young, it might be easier to kick it.
Stop smoking so much and keep busy like >>2 said.

Chew gum.
It helps.
So fucking much.

Well it's hard to stay busy and active ALL day, if his lungs are filled with shit...

tips:
chew gum like >>5 said.
stay out of stress like >>5 >>2 said
put whatever money you have away somewhere, no money, can't get cigarettes (I know your just 16, that bugs me on how you can get cigarettes... are you sneaking them? Or is it legal in your country to buy them at 16???)
try to avoid places you normally smoke, and other smokers because familiar sights and smells might trigger the craving
reduce how often you smoke, as quickly as you feel comfortable, but do it quickly.
get some help/support? tell your friends that know about it that your going to quit, and or your parents if they know. where I live, doctors live by a confidentiality code, they can't tell anyone anything you say or they will get sued/fired.
Maybe talk to a counselor if one works at the school? ask them to keep it a secret, and they prob will.
Now back to the real tips you'll actually prob do.
If you are getting you cigarettes by sneaking them from your parents or something, avoid it. We all know where out parents leave their cigarettes, just avoid them, or if they know you smoke, ask them to keep them hidden from you...

Vape if you want to stop.

My parents both started using vapors instead. They work by starting with your nicotine level, the going down gradually until you can stop altogether. However, you're probably not be able to buy these, so I'd say chew gum like most people here have said.

It will be hard, definitely, but worth it.

>>6 gave some very good tips imo, so if you're really looking to stop, I'd refer here. Pretty much everyone in my family smokes, and only a few have managed to move on to something better, or kick the habit completely. I really do wish you the best with this. Smoking is an awful habit.

>>8 Huh? Anyone can vape, or buy one.

10 Name: BarabiSama !!C8QPa1Mt : 2014-08-01 12:41 ID:o7YaVxEo [Del]

>>9 No, in many states, it's illegal to purchase them under (18-21, depending on where you live). You can *use* and *possess* them, but you can't buy them yourself.

11 Name: Xephlrek!9RNNck.4fo : 2014-08-01 16:35 ID:X0jQcv4+ [Del]

>>10 Oh, I looked it up and you're right. Weird because I bought one at a store and I'm under 18.

12 Name: BarabiSama !!C8QPa1Mt : 2014-08-01 18:56 ID:o7YaVxEo [Del]

>>11 Depends on the store. A lot of places don't enforce age restrictions. It's more money in their pocket, after all.

>>12 Yup. I think it's because they're sort of new, too.

want to quit smoking?
1st tip: put all your money somewhere you can't reach
2nd tip: hide it somewhere where you would forget it
3rd tip: Stressed? go hit something, not someone, something
4th tip: if tips did not help, re-read my tips and make of your own out of it
