My girlfriends abusive father, I need suggestions on what to do. (9)

1 Name: FREDRIQ !MKDuXHJNdI : 2014-07-09 19:47 ID:kU1V5KsV [Del]

The first thing I should do is call the cops, but unfortunately, when the cops were called, her father made her mom lie about the situation, and make her dad seem like the victim. And I personally want to kick his ass, but then I would be disqualified from the USAF Delayed Enlistment Program.

My Girlfriend's Father is the kind of person who, when his wife was having an aneurysm, drove the longer route just to stop by a store that had the cheapest cigarettes, Thrown pill bottles at her saying, "If you were brave enough, you'd kill yourself right now...", and beats her when ever he is gets a little mad, or she does something he doesn't agree with.
She is a strong girl who has dealt with this all her life, but with her mother needing more surgery, and medical bill piling up, he's been become over worse, just a few days ago he threw a RP Television at her. She's getting scare at how bad it's getting, she stays in her room all day, and now can't talk to people for help because her dad took everything she uses to communicates with.

Now her mom is trying to get her to leave her friends and is even blackmailing her to break up with me, or when I turn 18 this November, she's going to file a claim against me for pedophilia, even though we agreed to break up with each other then anyway. This is completely getting out of hand, and now she can't call for help if something truly bad does happen. Please help, I've been trying ti make a case against her father, but in this backwater city, they don't want to make a case when the only people they will talk to about it are the lying piece of shit mother, and the father himself.

Have you considered giving her your phone so she has something in case of an emergency? She should also invest in a camera or voice recorder to capture the conversations that happen in the house as evidence.

Instead of calling the cops, it's better that you have her call a domestic abuse hotline and explain what's been going on. They'll be stronger backup the next time something happens, especially if she calls them or stays on the phone with them the next time the abuse is taking place. (I'm fairly sure most legitimate hotlines record everything.) They may even offer her a place to live while her family is investigated. It all depends on who you can get to back her up.

I have bought her a Tracfone, but i can't get it to her cause they hardly ever let her leave, and arn't allowing anyone to see her. Her dad took away all of her portable devices anyway, the only thing she can do is climb out her window and run next door, which is what i instructed her to do, but that's only if she can get to her room long enough to do it. I'm afraid of what might happen, I'm afraid I may just have to deal with it myself, which will most likely have me being court-martialed and her to have to deal with the repercussions. I am recording all the messages she has sent to me, and I will consider calling the abuse hotline for her. Thanks for your advice Barabi.

Fredriq,

This is the type of situation where you're going to need everyone on your side. People such as your family, friends, and teachers(guidance counselors). Those are the ones who will help you. I'm positive this is not something you and your girlfriend can do on your own, trust me, I've gone through something similar in the past. You are right for not taking out on violence; it won't solve anything and most definitely will have consequences. Proof is also very important, since you guys aren't exactly considered adults; it's just your word against theirs. Cameras are good but also tricky; if they were found, it can cause a lot of trouble for your girlfriend. But just keep getting the word out, let them know you need help because only your voice can be heard if she's stuck in there. Cops don't have enough power until they get a warrant. Like BarabiSama said, call those hotlines, but also try to get in touch with lawyer(s), 'cause they will know exactly what to do even if her parents lie their ass off. Gather enough evidence in order to file a lawsuit if you'd like. But taking the mother's current situation into account, you're gonna have to speak to someone else that can take care of that. You have to be prepared if things get ugly. If someone's life is on the line you need to be there to protect them as a human being, but hopefully it won't come to that. If you you say this father is who you say he is, he needs to be put in jail. The mother is just afraid, and does not have the ability to fight back. All in all, it'll take time, so you both need to persevere even when you two break up; gotta be strong for one another to put this behind you.

I hope this somewhat helps, at least a bit. Goodluck.

I'll legally be able to take her into custody when I turn 18, and when she graduates highschool, she can move onto base with me. I have my closest friends helping me out, but I can't tell my father cause the soonest thing he'd do is grab the closest bat and pay him a visit, and not a teacher. I am working proactively on getting this resolved with the least fall back on her and I. I just need to get this filed with enough evidence and probable cause to circumvent the back water cops who are friends with the father.
