Seriously stressing out over this job interview (4)

1 Name: Stray Sheep : 2014-06-26 13:02 ID:w27wFFuA [Del]

I've been looking for a job for a while, and the place where my dad works is hiring college students for part time work so I applied and have an interview tomorrow. I'm honestly glad that I got a job interview, but I never really wanted to work there in the first place. I only applied because my dad urged me to and he wouldn't stop asking me if I had applied yet. I never actually thought that I would get an interview. It's not like this is my first job or anything, but it just doesn't seem like a job that I'm suited for.

The reason why I'm not sure about working there is because I kind of feel like my schedule is going to be: wake up, go to school, go to work, come home and sleep, and repeat. The other thing I'm nervous about is that at most of my other job interviews I either did horrible or never heard from the places afterward, so I feel like the same might happen here and if it does I feel like my dad might think that I didn't try hard enough to impress the interviewers, or maybe that I blew the interview on purpose.

Pretty much the thing I'm most worried about is the possibility that I won't have enough time between school and work to focus on keeping my grades up (in order to keep my scholarship), and I don't want to turn into one of those people who don't have any kind of social or personal life because they are always either focusing on work or school.

I just wanted to get that off of my chest and rant for a bit, but if anyone maybe has some feedback (criticism is accepted too) I'd be happy to hear it.

Stress is the last thing that you should bow to.
Just always keep calm mind at your timetable, etc, and you should be fine. I have experienced something like that as well, when I couldn't keep with my grades because of time pressure, but I have gradually overcome it with calm mind. Sorry if it sounded too simply or stupid, and hope it helps a bit.

I'll take that under advisement. I'm sure that if worse comes to worse that'll help out.

Stray sheep I understand that you wont have a lot of time to do your normal stuff like hanging with your friends or going out and partying and going on dates. but with work you can still do your homework after work before you sleep or in class. You will get a routine after a while and you can figure out whens the best time for fun. everyone all ways starts at a shit job. Keep us posted as you work and hope we can help
