Hello there. I was not exactly sure when to post this, but it's quite "personal" to me and I wouldn't talk with anyone with it, so if I have posted this in a wrong section, I am sorry in advance.
What is music to you guys? I love music, and I listen to it everyday, different genres too, be it soundtracks or actual songs with lyrics, and here is where a problem comes.
My question: Is it stupid if I enjoy a music with lyrics even without understanding it? I mean, if I like the "tune" first, and it catches my interest I of coursely look for its translation later, but.. I am quite unsure what to think. It's really confusing to me. I love the voice of the singer/songstress and the composition, but I do not even know what the lyrics mean for first. What would be your opinion on this fellow Dollars?
I don't think it's stupid at all! I mean, I often listen to foreign music, and though I often check the lyrics of the songs that particularly amazed me, I would love theme even if I didn't understand. I think it's a special thing; and that sometimes, the melody of the lyrics can catch your heart without necessarily using the words as a speech, but rather as a melody itself. Am I even making sense though?
For me, Music is truly relatable when you dont need to understand the "words" to convey the meaning... music is just music, you listen to what you like without caring if its stupid or not, thats how it goes. :) music is for everybody anyways

I don't get it - what's confusing about liking music? The very fact that you don't even understand the lyrics meant that you enjoy the music and the voice - not the concept of the song. I don't see the problem with that.
Also, if the focus of the thread is Music, then it belongs to the Music thread.
