I never really understood why some people can say things like, "I didn't choose to be born as the son/daughter of a ___!" and accept the person after that, but never really come to terms with, "I didn't choose to be born as a boy/girl/herm!"
Quite honestly, if I identify a soul that I want to be with very much, even if it's in a body that's "out of my perceived comfort zone", I'll accept that. Unless he or she's walking around with eight legs and compounds eyes, then yeah, maybe in another life, I will be your girl.
OP should however weigh the consequences of possibly being rejected, though. I took 2 years to confess to a Catholic girl back then when I was 15? 16? Her reaction surprised me. "I'm happy." (Of course, we can't be together because, well, I wouldn't want to put her through the hardship.) My only fear was to disgust her with my feelings because of the poisonous thoughts people around her beat into her mind (or tried to).
I hope you get a Good Ending, mate.
Also,
