Hi, my name is LOVELESS. I've been a member for a little while (about three years) and I guess I just needed a little support. I've been feeling especially useless lately, and I'm not sure how to deal with it. I'm trying really hard to work toward my future, but it doesn't seem like anyone's on my side. My father thinks that my dreams aren't worth pursuing and even mocks them when I leave the room. He keeps telling me that my dream is silly and isn't worth the effort. Even my counselor (for anxiety) said that I should think about something different. And it's not just about that. I know I probably sound melodramatic, but it feels that everyone's just going around telling me just how useless I am as a human being. They keep telling me that I should learn to be good at something, but no one is willing to teach me. *sigh* I want to be useful to someone, anyone! But where do I start? Is this really the extent of my power?

Your not useless no one is in this world. You need to start not caring what other people think and start living the way you want to without letting anyone bring you down, :D be happy always! You need to live in the present and say yes to things. life isn't as bad as you think.

>>1 why should you give a shit about what everyone else thinks of your dream? Dreams aren't supposed to be easy to achieve and you have every right to be able to work hard to achieve your dream. You shouldn't have to settle because other people don't believe you. I believe in you. Go for it.

Lack of support had also been my problem as of now. I don't believe anyone is useless. You should not believe in those words. So it's your dream. You work hard for it. Don't give up. Don't mind what they say.

I don't think you should change. You started it so you need to finish it. It's easy to learn something if you started learning at the very young age but if you're going to change right now, your old skill will be gone to a waste. I'm here to support you no matter what you're doing. So do what you want and don't give a damn about what they say.

>>1 Is your dream something you've wanted to do for a long time that you will definitely always want to do? What I mean is that if it's more of a whim or that you'll probably want to do something else later then maybe your family can see that and don't want you to follow something unrealistic. I don't know your situation or how strongly you feel about it but just make sure you really want to do what your dream is. The reason I'm saying this is because I've always been purposeless and haven't ever had a real dream so make sure that whatever you go for is real.

If you're absolutely sure about what you want to do then I agree with the other dollars that you should go for it. Parents don't understand us or see what we see so if that happends then you often can't rely on them for help. Like they said we are here to help as much as we can but since we can only give emotional support and advice you will probably have to work through this on your own irl. If no one you know will teach you then you might have to go out of your way to learn by means of books/internet (if it's knowledge you're after) or by contacting people near you that can help point you towards possible means of doing so.

As for you being useless, it's true that you just have to learn. It's unfair for people to call you useless if noone teaches you anything or helps you learn. If you're having trouble learning then it might not be the right thing for you. I think people think of you as useless because you're not interested in/ good at what they want and expected you to be good at. There's nothing you can do about that because it just turns out that what you are interested in is not what your parents wanted you to be interested in. It's not their choice, it's yours. You may seem useless in the eyes of people around you but you will find that other people will think of you as really usefull and important.

Well that's all I got. I hope I helped :D

Don't worry about others, as long as you have a dream, a motive, you can survive this. Try calming yourself down by something and restart it! Have a convo with you dad that it's important that he realizes your dreams too.

You're not the one who get less support. I ever had the same situation too, but then I think it's just wrong if you waiting for support. The problem is just your closest people didn't support you, I know it's hurt.

You're tired of these all. But you've been here, survived everything. But then it is the right way you want to do? If so, just keep go on yourself. All you need is to believe in yourself. You're the only one who decide which right and wrong, because you believe it's your way.

People or probably yourself didn't find your talent -some power in you-, of course you should find (learn) something new. Who are you? And what do you want (to do)? It's all about finding yourself.

I hope I helped you, if you need supports, you know we're the Dollars.
