Long-term memory problems (6)

I'm 18 years old,and recently a significant portion of my memories have disappeared. It wan't a large problem at first, but now it's becoming difficult to deal with. All of my memories from before high school have nearly completely disappeared, and my early years in high school are fading quickly. The only thing that hasn't been largely affected is whatever raw information (something I had learned) I've gathered. This includes random trivia as well as useful academics. But any interaction with family or friends has had the worst of it. I'm not sure how to deal with this, and I'm looking for advice on how to handle this.

...you could become an assassin, ala Phantom of Inferno. Or, you could go on some soul searching adventure meeting people from your past to rediscover it. Or you could start a farm, Rune Factory style. Or become a hero/warrior, like Guin Saga. Or.....take it day by day and get through this with friends and family(or at least, the people you think are your friends/family. Can you trust their word about that?!). The choice is yours.

Im not sure how i would deal with this as i tend to forget alot too but i don't have long-term memory problems. I would suggest keeping a folder of everything you have done every time next to your bed and make an alarm that tells u to read it every time u wake up. saw it in a movie once. seemed very helpful. also your type of memory loss is similar to the anime series "Golden Time". Anyways good luck. Your going to need it. P.S. Go with the flow.

>>1 academics? Are you serious? If that's the case then you really need to get yourself checked out! I mean it! Memory loss like repressing memories and other psych related memory loss usually afflicts personal memories and not information like academic knowledge or language skills. So if you're losing personal memories then go to a psychiatrist for help, if you're losing academic knowledge and other useful knowledge then you really need to go see a doctor. I don't mean to scare you but it could be a serious problem so deal with it quickly, good luck!

>>1 well, for my situation, I don't have long-term memory, but I would frequently forget what I was going to do. I always write in a journal or a diary and write the most important events that have happened in my life (though most of it is just about a boring and plain life....).
