So, I just turned 18 in January and decided to buy a pack of cigarettes. After they were gone, I bought another. My (basically) stepmother knows and so does my brother. I was pulling out of a local Smoker Friendly (I was looking for a reasonably priced Zippo) and my great aunt pulled up behind me. A month later, my father confronts me about my habit. Instead of being the "Why do you smoke? Does it make you feel good?" kinda confrontation, its the "So, I heard you smoke cigarettes? You had better get a job, because I'm not paying for a filthy habit." He drinks, I smoke. And someone tattled on me and told him. He won't tell me who. I have already asked my stepmother and my brother, and they both say it wasn't them. Should I press and ask to see who it was?

This is actually a secret, but one time, I got into the car with my sister when I smelled a faint smell of carbon monoxide and it turned out to be my sister who smoked. She said that she would sometimes smoke because she needed it whenever she felt really down or emotional, and to stop it, she would smoke. i'm also a kind of person that would experience that all the time, but instead, I just go on the internet for comfort.

While I don't exactly think you should be smoking, I don't think that pressing your dad would get you any answers. You might be able to tell who tattled by observing those around you if your dad mentions it again. If they look away guiltily or return your look with a glare, most likely it was them.

Well I think it's obvious that one of them told on you unless of course your father managed to hear it for himself without you noticing it. It's the fact that you don't have a job and are smoking that's the problem.
Don't be a dick, smoking costs a lot of money. If you're relying on your dad to pay for that kind of shit, of course he's going to get mad.
