so im 17 but my friend texted me and asked if he could live with me for senior year cuz his aunt and uncle cant afford to care for him anymore. if not, he'll prob have to move back to china where his parents are. this puts me in a really awkward position because of several things: 1- we are not THAT close of friends. if he was a close friend i would absolutely do it! but we've only known each other for 1 semester... 2- if he does move in, it would be really awk cuz we are not close and im the type of girl who needs my space and alone time while he is just really happy and friendly all the time...it can be tiring haha 3- but...he is my friend and i cant just turn him away onto the streets! 4- my parents will prob say no if i ask anyways, but so should i even bother asking them? they will prob yell at me and get mad. (we are not close at all) 5- im a girl and hes a guy and even though hes not my type AT ALL weird rumors might go around school. plus another reason for my parents to say no.
Doesn't he have other friends he could ask? And if he does need to stay with you, you should probably have him to ask your parents for permission as well and explain his situation to them. He also seems old enough to get a job or something so he wouldn't be completely living off of you if you make a deal with him. Since he's the one that would be living with you, you could set up boundaries for him, being the type of girl who needs space. (I don't know much of the situation but I'm giving the best advice I can)

1. ask him if he has any other friends tha the is colser too that he feels comfortable living with 2. ask your parents 3. you and your parents should do a background check to make sure he's not into drugs or anything illegal 4. SET BOUNDERYS AND LET HIM KNOW HTAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN A BF/GF RELATIONSHIP
