Cutting away an important part of your life? (2)

I'm new here, so forgive me if anything is offensive or self-centered! :(

I've been playing piano ever since I remember. I find myself loving the beauty and flowing with the music every time I encounter something musical. But lately I find myself crying to sleep because I'm confused about my feelings. For over three years now, I've been practicing the day of the lesson, and both my teacher and my parents disapprove greatly. I find myself unwilling to sacrifice other areas of my life for something I only enjoy when I listen to a perfected piece, and not the actual lesson. But I've still been doing this for over half of my life. So, basically, do you think it is right to cut away an important part of your life because you know you won't work for it?

>>1 Is playing the piano really what you want to do with you life?

If you answered yes then make your attitude a positive one. Just because you think you can't do something doesn't mean that you can't. You can do it if you set your mind to it and concentrate, focus, and use the criticism thrown at you to strive for success.

If you answered no then that is 100% fine. You can still enjoy music by listening to your favourite pieces. You can enjoy music in different ways, you can edit it, produce it, write it, etc.! The sky is the limit! You could also find something else that you want to do with your life, try new (safe,) things and see if you have another passion that you can strive for.

I hope that I helped~! Good luck~! :3
