How to Deal with Mood Swings (11)

1 Name: CoffeeCream : 2013-12-19 07:07 ID:5agDjml/ [Del]

Hi all. I'm *subject name here* and I've got a problem.
It's been 3 months that I'm taking the contraceptive pill to deal with acne and it's working, but it's affecting me in different ways.
Apart from the physical problems, a side effect are continuos mood swings and it's literally driving me crazy.
I'm usually quite sweet, but I'm starting to get angry and sad more often, and my still open problems with dealing with suicide tendencies is not helping. I can ask for help when i feel down, i can bare with that: but i don't know how to control the anger attacks. I don't want to hurt (physically and emotionally) anybody and I'm feeling I'm getting colder and colder.
I can't stop the treatment with the pill. What can i do to stay my usual-self? How can i restrain the mood swings?
Thanks for reading!

That happens to me quite a lot, but I always stop it at some deegre, usually when I actually hurt someone I realize it.

There is always solution. I'd suggest you to relax, do things you like, don't think too much about this stuff. I have experienced this too, the mood swings, I know what it means to hurt someone emotionally.

>>1 practice anger management techniques. Stay calm and act calm, think through your actions carefully so you don't hurt anyone.
When I get mood swings I put all that excess emotion into my art and writing, it helps me out a lot I suggest finding a hobby that lets you do that :3

Have you consulted your doctor regarding these side-effects? If not, please do so.

>>4 >>5 I can't afford paying a psychologist, and those side effects are quite common, i was expecting this kind of situation when i agreed but i didn't really thought about how i would have handled it... the doctor can't do anything but suspend the therapy only if i get seriously injured...
>>3 This seems to be a useful solution, but unlucky i have little time to spend practicing my hobbies- who surely are useful! ^^ What could i do in short time terms?

>>6 try spending at least ten minutes a day on something like writing a letter or drawing a picture, you just need something to put your emotions into :3

Whenever I get depressed or angry, I write about it. I don't stop until I feel settled. Then I read it over and over again until I calm down. It really helps me (some of these writings even turned out to be quite good of a composition :) ). Or sometimes when I'm really mad I take a piece of scratch paper and crumple it, just so I can get rid of that energy that accumulates in my fist that makes me wanna hit someone.
Basically, it's just as Neko-tama said, you just need something to put your emotions into.
Hope this helps you. :)
